Kodi Community Forum - Search Function

Hi all,

I've just built my HTPC, installed XMBC and am loving it. The one thing I am wondering about is a search function. As I've got 600+ films and 6,000+ mp3s, it would be very handy to have a search field that will search across all libraries. Does something like this exist and maybe I just haven't found it yet?

i'm busy creating an addon for it.

the idea is to allow searching the video- and musiclibrary in one go,
right from the home screen.

you can play each item right from the results screen,
preview the movie trailer or view detailed info using the context menu.

Wow, that looks excellent! How do you access the search feature? When do you hope to release?

Can I get pre-release access to this so Simplicity can support it ahead of time?

you just run the addon.
most skins allow you to put addons on the home screen or add them to the home-menu.

and who knows..maybe some skins will add a dedicated search button somewhere on their home screen.

Just to know -- will it work on Dharma, or will you only release it for XBMC's next version ?
