Is there a automated way to download landscape thumbs for tv shows and for episodes? Now the regular thumbs are stretched and that looks horrible.

When you are using Eden you can use Artwork Downloader (available in xbmc repo).
When you use Dharma some skins have built in support for logo-downloader.
