I just read up and learned how to setup the filemanager to do this.... This changes everything!

When I first read through post 1 I wrongly assumed I needed to be running Kodi on windows. Thank you for telling me to go back and reread that section. I just started creating my first new channel and it works flawlessly!!
One question tho, the banners and posters you can download for each show are they used with PTVL EPG or are they just for local files??

I am also having this issue. I just upgraded my USTVNOW so I could get more channels and then all of a sudden I cant get xml data. Has anyone else had an issue getting the streams to work? Or know a fix? Im learning quickly but if I need to manually edit the xml file I dont really know what I should be looking for to fix.
Right now in the community list under "youtube_playlists.xml" there are a number of channels which contain individual seasons of a particular show. For example there are 9 "Scrubs" channels (one for each season).
Would people be interested in having these season channels removed and grouped under "youtube_playlists_networks.xml" as single channels per show? For example instead of one channel for each season of "Scrubs" there could be one single channel with all the seasons.

I suspected that it was a throwback to the days before the "network" grouping option.
Also, Luna, is there any benefit to having "youtube_playlists.xml" and "youtube_channels.xml"? Couldn't they be incorporated into their network counterparts and just have single entries for the ID part of the syntax? My understanding is that the network channels create the channel based on all identified sources. If only one source exists the channel will be created based on that one source even though it is set as a multi-source YT channel, correct?
My reasoning is that if something ever needed to be added to that channel down the road it could be added very quickly without needing to move the entire entry to another xml. It might make your job easier as well.
Hello, Thanks for the great work. However, I have a little issue here that I can't figure out.
I am using NEXTPVR and my OTA channels work correctly in there, but in XBMC it stopped letting me view channels in ptvl and the default watch tv section. I get a "Tuner not Available" error message.
Any ideas of what this might be?
Thanks!!!

EDIT: NM I got it. It was NextPVR that was the problem having channels being 4.3 4.4. etc.

I'd rather keep them separate...
Random Youtube Channels and Playlists, are just a mass collecting pool for recommend sources.
If one of the Community Members feel there are enough compatible channels or playlists to create a "Network" Channel... then simply remove those sources from the Random Collection list and add them to the Network List.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but if I autotune the random youtube channels and playlists, will that then always keep me up to date with the community playlists? I won't have to change them or re-autotune?
I'm also worried that if I remove some of the channels from the autotune that I don't want that I might accidently remove a good community playlist.

Community list autotune creates channels in your local setup based on the entries in the community list at that time. It will not account for anything added to the community list after the fact unless you autotune again. If you do so make sure to backup settings2.xml as autotuning overwrites your setup.
You can't remove anything from the community list by deleting it from your local setup. Deleting channels only effect your own system.
As for deleting channels in general, if you are not sure whether you want a channel or not, leave it in your setup and test it out for a while before you delete it. There are lots of unique and interesting channels in the list. While many might cater to more niche audiences there should be at least something for everybody.

Is there any way (yet) to build a music channel from local music (MP3s not music videos)?
never really finished support for Music (Chtype 12)... autotuning music might work for u... otherwise manual custom music playlists..
No luck either way. Autotuning found blank channels that wouldn't load, and it wouldn't let me add custom music playlists (only video). Manually editing settings2.xml and the music channel doesn't show up.
Man I have been beating this nearly dead horse for yeeeeeaaaaaars now and I am still holding out hope that maybe we'll see it fully implemented one of these days. I know that a guy called Pharmeseutikle (spelling??) had a few music channels kind of working but I was never able to recreate more then a random one-song music channel on my end.
Personally the only thing IMHO that is missing from PTVL are MP3 based music channels. Music choice channels were always my goto when I had parties and since cutting the cord that's the one aspect of cable I miss.
Who knows maybe if enough people ask for it we'll see it moved up on the development schedule.

ARYEZ try the Last.fm channels. Very happy with them

Does anyone have a recommendation for keeping up on changes to this list apart from checking the page every day? I'm on iPhone...any good apps?

Hey bry thanks for the suggestion, I do appreciate it. FWIW the last.fm channels have been a decent substitute and work great for Pop and rock but I'm really not looking for more music video channels. In fact, the MyMusic TV integration Luna added a few updates back handles all my old school MTV style needs better than I thought would ever be possible.
I just want the ability to finally add actual MP3 based channels since I have thousands of songs in my library and there really aren't videos for the majority of music I listen to.
I can't get the OSD to show up.

I would like to know this as well. It would be nice to just add the newly added channels instead of having to always autotune, find the channels, then copy past them back into the backup settings2.xml.
The other day I posted that ustvnow channels just said Listing unavailable, check your xmltv file. for no reason most of the channels starting working again. some of them are still not working. (the channel plays but no info shows in PTVL) Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, NatGeo, and Fox News are still not working.
Im not sure what to look for in the xml file. Can anyone assist me in getting these working again? I tried to restart xbmc and restart autotune but it did not fix the issue.
