Marshall has there been any lag when scrolling through channels on EPG? I reported this when testing on Helix RC3 and dev o.56c which Lunaxtiz confirmed as a bug within Kodi and not addon.

I'm probably not the best person to ask because I use direct key entry to jump to the channel I want to watch most of the time, but when I have noticed lag in the EPG its generally when PTVL is updating or building channels or busy in the background. For the most part the EPG runs smoothly enough that I've never felt there was anything worthy of an official bug report. There may be other issues related to Kodi that Lunaxtiz is aware of so I can neither confirm nor deny as I'm far from an expert on either program.

The only other thought I have on this is that some of the ptvl skins are a bit code bloated and slightly outdated. Now that Kodi is officially out there are a lot of new whistles and bells to test out in the world of skinning, so I expect we'll continue to see improvements in these areas as Kodi advances and XBMC fades into obsolescence.

Its was fixed in dev branch and final helix, EPG should be smooth.
Thanks Lunatixz, still out Xmas shopping so won't get to test with official Helix release and dev branch until later today.
It would be awesome to see this plug-in stripped down and made into a PVR backend. It would be a merging of IPTVSimple and PseudoTV. Have you considered it?
Testing this addon with OpenElec and it constantly prompts to auto tune. I have run through this step at least 3 or 4 times now without success. It seems like the auto tune step is not saving any data. When looking at the channels from the PseudiTV settings there are no channels stored after the auto tune step. My directory

I'm using the stable version on OpenElec 4.2.1 Gotham

Am I missing something really simple here?

I started this project many months ago "PseudoTV lite". Because of a number of limitations with Kodi's player, I dropped the project. Namely there is no support for special protocols ie plugin://.

When this type of support is added or a work around is figured out, I'll be more then happy to release the pvr backend.

Do you have media scrapped into xbmc's library?

**EDIT**

Dev install works now for some reason! But now constantly prompts me to update and restart.. again and again! Sad

Then when starting up xbmc I get the message Script failed: Pseudo TV Live.. then why I try to run it again it says its already running?

Just as a test I installed XBMC on my desktop running Windows 7 (Kodi). Get the same error: Script failed: PseudoTV Live

If you're going to use the development branch, you need to know what you are doing!

Did you disable autoupdate or at least change it from stable to development?

Did you check dependencies?

Did you restart xbmc after PTVL install?

I have just tried running PTVL on Helix final and noticed on my normal settings2 my directory channel was missing. So I tested further by creating a channel lineup with just 3 channels.

channel 1: Directory based channel
Channel 2: Tv Genre based
Channel 3 Movie Genre Based

Channel 1 skips
The rest build fine with the exception that the BCT's do not work. I have it set to play trailers from a local source. But it is ignored. Same with Bumpers.

Here is a LOG

I then tried building with autotune and had the same results as far as local directory based bumpers and trailers not showing up.

LOG

I have tried deleting my old settings file and re-inputting with a fresh settings file, but it had no effect.

I was wondering if it is a bug or indeed something wrong with my setup somehow. Bear in mind everything worked flawlessly on Gotham. I hope the logs can shed some light.

I have made some progress with this. In previous version of XBMC PTVL used the paths added to the Video-Files node. Now it seems in helix to get the paths to be recognised in directory based channels the paths need to be added also to System-File manager to be recognised. From this I have been able to regain my directory based channels. However it doesnt seem to work for BCT's. I am still experimenting.

Just to clarify BCT's using online content work. But if you use local files it doesnt

You're welcome, I'm just glad there isn't anything wrong with my setup. Starting from scratch isn't something I wanted to do anytime soon!

That doesn't sound too good. I hope you can get the Kodi developers to fix it if needed.
