Hi,

got a Problem here with DTS-HD-Audio. If I passthrough DTS-HD-Audio I only hear a scratching noise on all channels. Normal DTS and AC3 works fine. Here are the log-files:

http://paste.ubuntu.com/6448419/

http://paste.ubuntu.com/6448427/
http://paste.ubuntu.com/6448428/
http://paste.ubuntu.com/6448429/

I already tried to replace the edid file and also set sync to "audio clock". Any help would be great.

Kind regards,

saito2
Which hardware do you have? Receiver wise? and how is it connected?

(2013-11-20, 09:31)fritsch Wrote: [ -> ]Looks like a myth bug. You could try to recompile pvr addons from latest opdenkamps master and see. Use "make zip" then you can just install the myth version.

pvr addons in my fernetmenta-master ppa are fully up to date.

Hmm, well I will keep updating and hope it starts working, I know it's not the myth backend because it works on my phone/pi/gaming computer, with same pvr add-on version on pi and gaming computer. My installation is a little different from the OP because I have this installed on top of the myth backend, but it seems like everything except the pvr works. I did have to do some extra steps with .xinitrc and X because I'm using a different username, wouldn't think that would be an issue though.

Let me know if there's any more info I can provide that might be helpful in figuring this out, and thank you for your time!
Replace this xbmc with xbmc unstable and report back if this is working. Those: https://launchpad.net/~team-xbmc/+archive/xbmc-nightly

OK I'll ssh in now and update it, though I can't report on if it works till I get home after work. Thank you!

I've got an ATI Radeon 6450 connected via HDMI to my Samsung Receiver HTD5550. Here the technical specs from the samsung site:

Dolby TrueHD yes
DTS yes
DTS 96/24 yes
DTS-HD yes

If your username is not xbmc, you have to adjust it. Also make sure there are no linebreaks etc

My username is xbmc, that file is properly. No linebreaks, I see it again. The shutdown funcktion is work.

fritsch: consolekit is installed on my system.
Did you ever get DTS-HD out of this thingy with a source attached via HDMI? The last Samsung of that sort I looked into, only could do DTS-HD/TrueHD from bluray.

Does 7.1 LPCM work? E.g. Disable DTS, disable TrueHD and set speakers to 7.1?
@RedCat: No single idea. Post your xbmc debug log and the output of: upower -d

You see the difference? -> recheck your polkit stuff. Post those two files.

Yes 7.1 LPCM is working fine. I got exact the same setup running DTS-HD but with Windows 7/XBMC instead of Ubuntu 13.10/XBMC.
Okay. That is something for Alsa Mailing list, please report it there. You might have luck contacting Anssi in #xbmc channel. He has written that new Audio code - it is a kernel thingy, not xbmc related.

PS: Don't pm him - he is busy, but will answer when time permits.

Edit #xbmc channel

Edit2: Make sure to use the 3.12-4.0 kernel I posted some days ago.

Thanks alot I'll try the Kernel (uname -r says 3.12.0+) first before contacting the Mailing List. Did I miss something on the 1st Page? I downloaded the Kernel there.

I installed the following:

linux-headers-3.12.0+_4.0_amd64.deb linux-image-3.12.0+_4.0_amd64.deb

Are this the correct files? The 3.12.0+_4.0 is confusing me. :-)

Kind regards,

saito2
Code:
dpkg -l |grep linux |grep image
should tell:

Quote:ii linux-image-3.12.0+ 4.0 amd64 Linux kernel binary image for version 3.12.0+
