I currently have XBMC installed on my laptop with winows but have decided to install linux instead .
so I am not sure how to have the xbmc setup so that it opens automatically on my LCD TV ( second monitor) that way I can still check my emails and such while watching Vids on my LCD TV

2 ways.

1) Add this PPA https://launchpad.net/~aap/+archive/ubun...ernetmenta and install from there, as FernetMenta's builds have proper multi-monitor support.

or

2) Install Kodi, either a nightly or build yourself from source, as the required code for multi-monitor support under Linux is now in mainline
