Kodi 14.0-Alpha5 Git:2014-10-18-31ce987-dirty (Compiled: Oct 18 2014)
Install method: ssh'd via my iMac (27-inch, Late 2012) v10.10
I will be happy to include a log if its deemed necessary.

I've been using the Kodi Alpha builds successfully for quite a while now. Today while installing the build http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/darwin...r-atv2.deb. I received the following errors below: Both during & at the end of the installation I don't know if it means there is problem or not? Please advise... thank you Smile

Note: 1.When i received the error following entering the command ---Apple-TV:~ root# dpkg -i *xbmc*.deb. I took 100% unknowing chance and put *kodi*" in place of *xbmc*. Im not sure about the GPG error either.

2. At the end it did take me back to ATV2 home screen, but I can still open Kodi/xbmc normally and have issues with only a couple addons out of many.

3. I'm not sure if more info is needed... sorry if I've made errors in my judgement. And will promptly comply with anything you ask or need.

I greatly appreciate any help, thank you.
I think you just need to wget and manually install this guy: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/atv2/deb/org...os-arm.deb

Code:
wget http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/atv2/deb/org.xbmc.kodi-seatbeltunlock_1.0-5_iphoneos-arm.deb

dpkg -i *seatbeltunlock*.deb

Then try installing Kodi again.

I don't think it's listed in the normal repo file yet, but will be soon.
EDIT: It should be listed in the xbmc repo. Weird. Not sure, but the manual install should still work.
apt-get install org.xbmc.kodi-seatbeltunlock
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! That worked like a charm. I have successfully updated to Kodi 14.0-Beta4.
Hello again Wink
I have a new problem... I just tried to update to the new RC build (http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/pre-release/...os-arm.deb). Everything went as expected until:

Can you tell what went wrong from this? Please advise... thank you!! Smile
org.xbmc.kodi-atv2_14.0-0~rc2_iphoneos-arm.deb.1 <- ... you had that package already there (maybe an aborted download) and when you downloaded it again wget used the deb.1 name ... then our instructions (which assume that the extension is .deb) fail ...

Code:
rm *.deb
mv org.xbmc.kodi-atv2_14.0-0~rc2_iphoneos-arm.deb.1 org.xbmc.kodi-atv2_14.0-0~rc2_iphoneos-arm.deb
dpkg -i *xbmc*.deb
That did it Smile My sincere thanks and I wish you a Very Merry Christmas! I hope Santa brings you something extra special Wink

Haha
Hello again Wink I hope santa brought you your pre-heater! I told him you definitely deserved it Smile I just installed the new stable version of Kodi. All seemed to go well... but after I start up Kodi it will run fine for a couple of minutes then crashes back to my apple TV home screen. This has happened at least 6-8 times in a row. Any thoughts on why? I've noticed I have an icon for Kodi AND an icon for XBMC both on my home screen for Apple TV. Could that possibly be the culprit? Thanks again in advance if you can help Wink I appreciate it so much, always!
please deinstall xbmc as it hogd resources

apt-get remove org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2

got the pre-heater - but its broken already (there is nothing you can by for money nowadays which really works *pukes* ). Have a second home in the car workshop might be a solution...
Hi Smile I figured out the problem... just cleared the cache. D'oh!! Blush lol

Now when trying to remove the old xbmc as you suggested. It says "Could not open lock file (permission denied)" & asks "are you root?". I apologize for my ignorance.... do I just add "sudo" (??) at the begining to gain root access? I'm a total coding new'b...sorry Wink

That's rotten luck about the pre heater-- sorry to hear it Sad I couldn't agree more with you on the poor quality of most things these days..... it sure does suck (sigh). I wish you luck on you 2nd home idea... lol Wink

Quick question on a side note if you can help...plz? I just installed Kodi on my Iphone 6 plus. But I can't seem to find where to access the system file area to add a new repository? Do I need to access it through something else like iFile, maybe?

Many thanks as always...!! Smile
/var/mobile is normally visible in Kodi on the iPhone - just put it there... - also you need to do the apt-get remove as root - you need to login as root - there is no sudo on ios.
hi ive just tried to install xbmc/kodi on an atv2 through nito when the atv2 rebooted there was no sign of it so i tried to install the nito and the same happened again does any1 pl have any ideas whats happened thank you
Hi sorry for my delay in responding. I figured out the iphone problem... I just had to change the original skin that came with the update. Then it was business as usual.

I tried to go in to remove the old xbmc version again. As I've been having problems all of a sudden with Kodi completely freezing. Am I still doing something wrong?

TMountainHigh$ ssh [email protected]
[email protected]'s password:
Apple-TV:~ root# apt-get remove org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
Reading package lists... Error!
E: Write error - write (28: No space left on device)
E: Can't mmap an empty file
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

After Kodi froze, I had to unplug my device. I've misplaced my apple tv remote and have been using the xbmc media center remote on my iphone. The connection is lost when Kodi freezes so I cant use force quit. The first couple of times this happened upon restart there was an error of some kind about common cache. I'm not sure exactly as I can't get it to duplicate again. I can start kodi as usual and get to the start up screen. The rss feed is running across the bottom. But that's it. I am now unable to get the media center remote to locate a signal at all. How can I clear out enough to gain available space back via Terminal on my Desktop?

Its probably an easy fix... I feel foolish asking, sorry and THANK YOU Smile
