I upgraded from Gotham to Kodi, did a full install, and Kodi will not start. It will always freeze, but in different places. Most of the time it freezes on the initial loading screen. Although sometimes it does get to the XBMC/Kodi menu screen, but does not display the menu, only the background, then freezes. Most of the time the popup saying that Kodi has stopped working comes up and forces me to close it. Other times I have to use Task Manager.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As of now I have tried the following:

Re-installing Kodi (multiple times)
Backing up and deleting my userdata folder and re-installing Kodi
Uninstalling Kodi completely and re-installing Kodi
Updating my Windows and checking to make sure all of my drivers are up to date

New Log: http://pastebin.com/piLu1bqX

Can someone please help me?
first of all those aren't debug logs

second, you are using addons that are not supported by the developers, read the red text at the top of this forum.
I am not asking for help with any addon whether supported by the devs or not. I stated in my post that I have uninstalled completely and attempted a clean install with no previous user data, and it still froze.

And I cannot access any other logs, or even the option to turn debugging on.
for this you have to change your settings level to expert.

Without debug logging enabled it's hard to tell what is going on on your system

Here is a howto:

It was also found in the link "helta" sent you...if you have looked at it Wink
Thank you David1977.

Here is my debug log.

UPDATE: Just installed Kodi Beta 5 and the same error persists. On one attempt, an error message showed in the bottom right hand corner stating that XBMC Version Check failed, but it has only done this once.

Can someone please help me?
I was able to get it to run substantially longer while having another application in the foreground. However, the second that I selected Kodi, it crashed.

OMG This is frustrating...!!!!!

I just completely wiped my computer and re-installed Windows 7 and Kodi is still crashing the second it opens. There is literally nothing more I can do without someones help.

have you tried running Kodi with a "clean" configuration, i.e. delete the C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\Kodi folder? if not, can you please do that and report back.
If that works, you can start re-enabling all settings you had (one by one!) and figure out which one causes the crash.
and while you're at it, please install the latest stable graphics driver from the AMD site for your video card (listed as a 760G - so assuming an integrated Radeon HD3000).

Thank you Voyager for helping.

In regards to your first post, as I said earlier I did a full wipe and re-installed Windows. There was nothing left, so no Kodi Folder.

As for your second post, that was an excellent idea and I kinda kicked myself for not thinking about that first. I did in fact have an update for my driver (at least after the Windows wipe). Although this did not fix the issue either.

Speaking to someone else about it, they said it might be helpful to know what kind of setup I had. My Windows 7 Desktop is connected to an HDMI switch. That HDMI switch goes to a stereo receiver which then goes to a 60" Sharp TV, all via HDMI. Out of curiosity I did attempt to connect a standard monitor directly to my desktop, and it still did not do anything differently.
Since my last post I have:

Upgraded to RC1
Wiped the hard drive completely (again)
Re-installed a different copy of windows
Update all drivers
Installed all Windows Updates
Installed AMD Radeon Graphics Support Software
Installed Kodi Launcher

None of these things has worked.

Can someone please tell me if my graphics card is supported by Kodi? I have an AMD Radeon HD3000 (760G)
Thanks to Krustyreturns I finally have an answer.

After reading his forum post, I thought about my setup. Although I do not have an actual PS3 controller hooked up to my PC, I do have a Gigaware USB IR dongle originally intended for a PS3. The drivers in fact are that of a PS3 Controller. As you can probably guess, after unplugging it, Kodi works just fine.

Can somebody either give me the ability to give rep or just rep the hell out of Krustyreturns for me?

Also, will we see driver support for PS3 Controllers?
Hi,

Found it!
I upgraded to Windows 10, with a 6520g HD graphics adapter.
It puts kodi in energy saving mode. Just change to high performance and it works like a charm!

Hope it works for other people with the same problem!
