I cannot find my hdd. it used to work. i have all my media. but started it up today and everything wont play as says path missing/ moved / changed (something like that) i try to re add the path but cant find the harddrive.
its on a powered hub. set how it used to be.
i remember a post where a user wrote the path to find the harddrive. it wasn't the usual or most logical place (i.e. media, or usb etc, it was somewhere weird) and i didnt remember it and cannot find that post. any idea where to located the drive?

Is the hard drive itself still working correctly?

If you plug it into a PC can it be read and accessed properly and the files on it opened and viewed there? That would be the first thing I would check before getting more involved with Pi access paths etc.

First step is to find whether the system 'sees' the HDD at all - are you able to SSH in to your Pi to carry out command line ops?
If so, then you could start with lsusb - the output should show the HDD device.
Next you could try a mount command to see if it is mounted (and where).
If you are unable to SSH in, I'm at a loss what to suggest
