Hi all, hope you can help, i am currently backing up my DVD collection to an external hard drive which is connected to my Windows PC upstairs.
The PC is connected via short Ethernet cable to my Netgear Router.
From the Router i also have a long run Ethernet cable that runs downstairs into an android tv box with XBMC Loaded connected to my tv.
My question is can i connect to my pc upstairs through xbmc on my android so that i can watch my dvd collection from the external hard drive?, and how would i do this?

Any help much appreciated.

Yes, simply use SMB (wiki) file sharing on the Windows PC and you should be able to add it as a video source on the Android XBMC/kodi box.
