I just need XBMC to launch MX player pro as external player and be able to play files from smb.

So far the closest I have come is using the Just XBMC build which launches the mx free player but then I get an error, something like "cannot play video". However MX player works fine when using a network file explorer to launch it.

Havent been able to get playercorefactory.xml to launch mx pro on any build i have downloaded. Why is this seemingly easy task so hard to do?

which OS and which version of Kodi are you using?

For one, you're not supposed to need to use an external player. Why are you trying to play things with MX Player?
