My server that I use to stream media and have XBMC on (for addons, media scanning) has only 2 GB of memory and I'm looking to upgrade.

I plan on running some sort of linux distro on whatever I get, these are cheap so I'm wondering if Kodi will run on them even with no monitor connected?

They will work great. Gotta mount them though

Do you know how large/heavy those units are? Have you worked with rackmounted equipment before? They are very loud/large/heavy

But will xbmc run without a monitor hooked up?

For use as an HTPC don't bother.

If you want the server for other purpose such as file/disk storage then go for it.
