Hello experts,
I have an Android based Streamer (HiMedia Q10 ||). It has XBMC v12.2, I tried to install a newer version but these versions won't lunch any video.
At Version 12.2 viedos are played, the problem is that if SRT file attachment (next to the video file or at the Sub folder) that includes translating Hebrew subtitles do not appear at all.
I made the video settings as follows:

I'll be grateful for any kind of help.
Thanks!
Hey...
These are my log files:

I also note that when I chose to play the videos with DVDPlayer (and not the default hiplayer) the subtitles appears, but the videos works really slow.

Thanks
We don't support their modified version. The hardware itself does not work with the hardware video decoding APIs that we use. I'm sorry, but you bought a dud. This is why it is important that people put in a minimal amount of effort into researching things before buying something.
I manage to solve it in case someone will have this problem.
First you need to download MX Player free.
Next uninstall your version of XBMC and install this version:

That's it.
This is why it is important that people put in a minimal amount of effort into researching things before just giving baseless answers.
Peace.
I'm sorry if I offended you in my last message. It's just frustrating for those of us who answer these questions, because we've tried to get the word out there on what boxes to avoid and what works well.

I've researched the HiSilicon-based boxes about a year ago and continue to keep an eye on information about them. Some of the newer SOCs look promising, but most of their stuff hasn't worked with XBMC/Kodi very well, if at all. It's the same story with AllWinner. Yes, you can cobble together some makeshift system using external players, but that's a complicated set up that only gives you a small portion of the features that the native Kodi video player can handle. Sometimes you get lucky and someone at least puts out a custom version of XBMC/Kodi for those chips and is able to get it mostly working without dealing with external players.

HiSilicon, Allwinner, and MediaTek seem to be the last hold outs of the semi-common chip makers that have issues with XBMC/Kodi. That's why we have this page here: Android hardware (wiki)
