Since the changes from 3.50.x have worked their way into 3.44.20, I've decided to create a new page dedicated to Live TV and PVR changes - feedback and suggestions welcomed.
Here's the latest version I've made - it's clean, simple and provides as much information as possible without being cluttered. I should point out that it's scrollable and auto-scrolling. So you can move down the list and use the same keys as with any other widget. It will work with all clients.
Features
- Scrollable
- Auto-scrolling (like other widgets)
- Works with all clients (should do)
- Local language support (strings from Kodi main language file, so all supported)
- Local time settings (I don't mean the time - that's obvious, I mean whether you have a 12h/24h clock set as your preference in the main Kodi options.)
- Channel logo obtained from PVR back-end.
- Channel Name obtained from PVR back-end.
- Channel Now and Next obtained from PVR back-end.
- Channel Next: End time obtained from PVR back-end.
There's no need for further times since it's easy to work out what the current programme will end when the next starts (more or less).
Opinions?
English (Channel names will match back-end, so they display in your local language)

Great! It looks much better than your last attempt. I like it.
That looks nice! I am not sure whether it is possible but can the channel list be generated out of let say the 10 most watched channels? That would give a great overview. Instead of showing all available channels the list could show only the most liked ones...

Nope, it's going to be simple - all channels with Now and Next (End time) + the logo and other features mentioned. You can scroll down that list.
It's nearly finished, I'm just having an issue with one part.
can you change radio channels to radio stations? never heard of a radio channel.

add to favourites. Your top channels will be on your favourites list.

Could you not use something like smartish.widgets to do this?

I may have to - just to get it to load correctly. It works very well, but at the moment it requires a skin reload in order for the content to display. If it's the case that it requires the skin to be reloaded + another add-on just for one line (the source) to load, it won't be getting into any commit.

Well it's radio, digital and a channel, so technically it's a radio channel.
If it is not possible... OK. I was just thinking of the other widgets for movies and tv series. They also don't just scroll through your movies or tv show collection but instead give information such as new added, current playing, ... I like the channel list but in a way it is double content in case the list just shows all channels as I get this information anyway once I select to go into Live TV. Therefore my idea to show only the most watched channels... Other than that it is already a great improvement and looks very good!

If you have favourite channels set up, it will show those instead - it will mirror the content from the EPG and in that order. As a quick glance it's useful, the same applies to Spotlight and other widgets.
have you got a link to those picons?
Excellent work, it looks great. It’s not an easy task to combine aesthetics with functionality but this skin is very well balanced and polished in overall. All this latest progress in the LiveTV/PVR/EPG section makes me really want to add a TV-Tuner to my HTPC setup. It feels like I’m missing out on the good stuff
.
Keep up the good work and best regards.
Suggestion: When changing channels, The pause icon in the middle of the screen looks out of place, Could it be swapped/replace the weather status next to start and stop times.
The pause icon works well there, the video is buffering from your back-end so it's paused. So, no, it's not going to be swapped. If a lot of people request the weather to be removed from the next to the timers then I will consider it, personally I find it very useful as I use the weather feature all the time. I don't understand why some appear to not use it.
Love it. I have one suggestion: when in one of these views, we can bring up the menu by pressing left. It used to be that scrolling through this menu would reflect the changes immediately. Now you have to press enter on a menu item before it changes view. I personally prefer the original functionality, where the highlighted menu item is the one displayed. Hopefully this makes sense.
This looks much better then before…
Wich cireterias must be met to get the channels shown there? Are they the same as in the channel list?
I would suggest a selection based on tags from the PVR backend, but I don't know if every backend supports tags like Tvheadend do… Maybe a skin setting for selecting favorite channels?

It's designed to be simple and give a quick view of what's on now and next without needing to go into the EPG or channel list. It shows the channels in the order they're provided by the PVR back-end (I have a favourites list set up so that's the order you're seeing in the image).
