Recently installed Kodi on my MacBook Pro which is running Yosemite
Would people recommend Google Chromcast as the best option to cast my movies etc to my TV? Does Kodi support it?
The main aim of Kodi is to be the direct interface for your living room TV. So most of us actually run Kodi on a small miniPC or other similar device that is directly connected to the TV, rather than use any kind of casting. I would recommend going with the Amazon Fire TV stick or Raspberry Pi 2. Then you don't even need Kodi running on your MBP, unless you want to share videos from it (and in that case you only need something like
NFS (wiki) or
SMB (wiki)).
I'm trying to figure out too how to use chromecast as I do not have anything else to connect my laptop to my tv. I've see. Some YouTube vids about it but all seems different. I'd be keen to find a way of doing it. Any ideas people? Thanks
