Hallo,

are there any plans to make the re-touched skin compatible with Kodi 14 Helix? What would it take to make it compatible?

Kind regards

Max
it's already compatible.
Hallo,

hmmm, very brief and not very helpful answer. Why can't I install it then?

It is listed as v12 and v13 only, right here: http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Re-Touched
I can't see it here either: https://github.com/xbmc/repo-skins/tree/helix
It's not here either: https://superrepo.org/kodi/list/categories/skins/
Trying to use this, complains about a version mismatch: https://github.com/xbmc/repo-skins/tree/...re-touched
So I end up having he same problem as him?: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=222685
The link in this post is outdated: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid1293827
I read that it is default for ipad and iphone here: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...t=download
But as I am not using either of those devices this seems to be no help. I have an up to date kodi installed on multiple devices running OSMC and neither ships with re-touched contained, nor is it offered by the default repo. I see there's a lot of unofficial repos ( http://kodi.wiki/view/Unofficial_add-on_repositories ) is it contained in any of those? I didn't have the time to try them all, also none of the promises to contain it.

You see, I have tried every reasonable way to get re-touched working in kodi 14 on either of my touchscreen devices running OSMC without success. The only Idea I have left is, to download the gotham re-touched zip file and change the gui version to 5.3.0 in the addon.xml. But I'm not sure if this would just work or require futher modifications.

Max
we're not osmc. i'm sure they have their own support forum.
This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING todo with OSMC. I am running Kodi 14 on Arch Linux, Geexbox and Windows. Nowhere can I install your re-touched skin. It is, however included in the iPad and iPhone versions, as mentioned in the linked thread. As I only need it on my two OSMC devices, which are controlled by touchscreen, I mentioned OSMC here.

Well, thanks to your extreme unwillingness to be helpful to potential users (same as for this poor guy, who didn't even receive an unhelpful answer: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=222685 ), I have lost any interest in using your skin. Confluence works just fine once you get used to it.

Max
so now we're to blame for the fact that osmc ships with a crippled version of kodi?

think again.
arch linux: community/kodi-14.2-2-x86_64 -- no re-touched skin in either repo, can't find a working zip file for manual installation anywhere
Windows: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/win32/ko...-Helix.exe -- no re-touched skin in either repo, can't find a working zip file for manual installation anywhere (Edit: haven't actually tried the 14.2 yet on windows)

Not a problem of OSMC. Provide a repo or a zip file for Kodi Helix 14.2 and I wouldn't complain.

When searching for an up to date source, all I can find is some ancient google code or github repos:
https://github.com/JezzX/skin.re-touched
https://code.google.com/p/jezzxbmc/downl...st?can=1&q=

Well, for once google was not very helpful here, browsing the kodi source on github ( https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/tree/Helix ) revealed that it is indeed in there:

https://github.com/xbmc/skin.re-touched

The question is, why doesn't it show up in the skin list or the repositories on any of my devices? Why isn't it included in the builds?

Looking at https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/archive/14.2-Helix.zip I see that addons/skin.re-touched is an empty directory. Same holds for https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/archive/14.2rc1-Helix.zip . Which may be the reason why 14.2 releases are missing your skin?

think again?

Edit: A link to here, would have very well answered my initial problem: https://github.com/xbmc/skin.re-touched/releases
Is there any reason to not have retouched also in the add-on repo? I always assumed it was to prevent some kind of conflict. It would be nice to download it straight from the repo for various Linux devices that have touch screens
I second this - I use re-touched on the o2 Joggler, and it would be more convenient to get updates via the addon-manager. Also the latest ready to go download for Helix on github seems older than the latest code for the Helix version - would be useful to have an up to date build. Thanks.
I just did a clean install of 14.2 on a Surface Pro, and re-touched is marked as incompatible in the add-ons. Is this a re-touched problem or a kodi problem? Confluence is unusable on a surface pro so this is a real PITA.

edit: downloading the zip file from github in the link above it works fine, the one included in the repositories must be an old version.
