Did anyone try to play x265 files on rpi 2? Can the new model handle it?
I know that on the b+ it loads but it hasn't got enough CPU power to handle it

Only SD. Even 720 stutters.

No H265 hardware decoding on the RPi2 so 1280x720p up to about 1.1Mbps is the max you will get from software decoding on the RPi2. And even then some files will not play.

Amlogic S805 and S812 SoC's provide proper Hardware H265 decoding.
