Hi all,
Kodi(15.0-alpha2) mac osx version has been working perfect except this issue, it crashes when a USB disk is plugged in and trying to look at the "Files" tab under Music or Videos. I was having issues when scanning music files into library (crashes). I have some files in Chinese and Japanese names. I have never been able to solve this issue. Now the problem is getting worse. Inserting a usb disk can cause Kodi to crash. Can some one please look at the report and let me know how it can be resolved. Thanks!

Could you also post the corresponding debug log (wiki) - when this happens? (use pastebin please and don't paste the log directly in the forum).
Sorry to take so long to get back. I hoped the new version will solve the problem. But it didn't. I installed kodi 15. It crashes whenever I scroll down the bar in song list.
Here is the log file. Thanks!

That log only shows how you used the xbmc log addon - i need the log from the crash. Read the link i mentioned on how to get it.

Also your installation is tainted by all those addons which are not allowed to be discussed in our forum. Just mentioning that the mass of addons of that kind you have installed might already introduce the crash problem for you. Read the forum rules (wiki) as an fyi.

I would try with a clean installation without those addons to see if its really an issue of Kodi core.
Thank you for the instructions. I will do a clean installation and report back.

These logs are still not showing any crash. The first one once again shows how you uploaded the log - the old.log shows a clean shutdown and no crash.

Consider moving your /Users/<yourusername>/Library/Application Support/Kodi away for a test (this gives you a clean kodi without addons) and try to reproduce the crash in this state. Or somehow provide a log which really shows the crash.
