Don't know if this is the right place to post this, I have fresh install of windows 10, went to the Kodi shortcut properties, clicked on the "shortcut key" field on the shortcut tab, pressed the green button on my remote, and "Ctrl + Shift + W" was entered. Easy way to start Kodi with my mce remote.
Of course if you have win7 or 8 with windows media center this will probably cause issues.
I have no experience with other remotes but it might work with others.
