Hi

I'm failing to download subtitles to my movies.
I tried several videos, they all show same results.
When I search for subtitles - I do see results, but when I try to download, I get an error message.

I've uploaded my log here: http://xbmclogs.com/p3gin34mx
You can see in the log example failure in 17:16:29
If i'm not mistaking you need to sign up for a account on OpenSubtitles,
and use those credentials in the add-on
I will try signing in, but it used to work flawlessly until yesterday...

Update: It worked after signing in, thanks!
my download works just once, 2nd time i want to download subtitles, the plugin fail...

I always have trouble downloading subtitles with any subs addon
Doesn't work for me at all.
Always states my login is either empty or incorrect.
Quadruple checked them, they are correct.
Maybe it has something to do with the gazillion add popups they throw at you?
Can't decently browse that site without any adblocker and element hider. Yuck.
Hi,

it seems there is something wrong with opensubtitles.org site
Oopsy. I didn't realize I dug up a really old thread.
Sorry about this.
No worries. The problems are still actual in 2018.

Failed to download subtitles
Error searching for subtitles. Username and password is empty or not valid (while this is not the case)

Kodi log shows:
12:51:28.149 T:139827899188992   DEBUG: ### [__main__] - failed to connect to service for subtitle search

If you try multiple times, it works sometimes.

The plugin has been broken for many month/years and no-one can/wants to fix it unfortunatelySad

Same here. It varies during the day. Either the add-on is buggy or the back-end server is having hiccups. Or both.

`
self.server = xmlrpclib.Server( BASE_URL_XMLRPC, verbose=0 )
search = self.server.SearchSubtitles( self.osdb_token, searchlist )
if search["data"]:
return search["data"]
else:
return None`
Seeing as above is returning None but will get a result if you keep trying then either xmlrpclib or opensubtitles.org is at fault.

I could debug it further but seeing as the opensubs git has outstanding PRs from over a year ago and Kodi will not happily allow someone else to take over development I see no real point in debugging the issue.
It is however worth pointing out that kodis version of this service is 5.0.16 and the git (last active 2 years ago) is at version 5.2.14
I am currently testing this:
http://blog.opensubtitles.website/guides...addon-kodi

Also seems to work on and off.
Wonder why they don't offer it as zip file,
Why do I need to install a un official repository ?
Guys does subtitles work for you in kodi Leia? My hangs everytime I try to load subtitles?
