Based on mimic by braz.
Only for Kodi Krypton (17).
I added some colorbox effects and spoiler tweeks for my own use.
Is based on HTPC usage, might work on android [shield definitely works fine!].

Inspired a bit by Philips ambilight for surrounding images with color matched light.
And subtle backgrounds for dialogvideoinfo screen.


Note: All my added options are in sideblade [apart from removing widget options]. You will need to rebuild menu items if installed previous version!

Added:

• Hide spoilers per TV/Movies
  
• Set banners/posters per TV/Misc [InfoWall atm]
  
• Extra fanart from skin.helper
  
• Speed up extra fanart rotation on info views
  
• Extra fanart for fanart view
  
• Rotten Tomato critic summary
  
• List view will fill up from bottom rather than sit at top with empty bottom screen
  
• Hide/Fade in weather widget on startup when empty
  
• Pulse focus on some views for colorbox option
  
• Tmdb/Rotten/Metacritic ratings added
  
• Reworked topbar
  
• Next aired topbar
  
• Round seekbars
  

Removed:

• Only one widget type [may add variations of this type but nothing fancy!]
  
• Thumbdiffuse on views removed as gets stuck on first entry [no big difference]
  

My Bugs:

• Shift view colorbox focus borked [I think due to multiple containers but wip]
  
• List view addons pictures stacked [easy fix just lazy atm!]
  

Still adding features, but check photos.

I especially like the colorbox border effect on the info dialog poster. How resource intensive is that on low powered devices? Will see about adding that to the main skin.

Once its processed and cached I think is fine. I run it on an athlon A5350 no trouble.
Will need some feedback for android as PIL resource is maybe missing ... or was a while ago [but I know Shield runs fine].

You can change to posterize, distort, blur or pixel [or none!]; distort is most intensive followed by pixel. Posterize minimal impact and blur the least impact. Option 'None' will return to standard focus method.

Oh, and also, it 'cheats' the landscape/fanart/non poster etc. surround by only using poster for colorbox, but as this mostly matches fanart color palette kind of get away with it [and less resources!].

Thanks, great explanation. Will have to see if I can incorporate it in a consistent way, may not be able to as I now have the aspect ratio for info dialog art set to "keep" for some content.

Reworked topbar.
Added metacritic/tomatocritic stuff [thanks to Eunique skin and @im85288!].
Fixed vertical widget colorbox and weather empty fade.

Oops forgot default colours, upped now!

Added colorbox header/background options [blur is color matched others are random]

Added complimentary colors for labels [will do best to make visible opposite color to header/colorbox overlays etc.], needs new colorbox on github
