Full Version: torrents control kodi (possibly from remote control)?

The reason I'm asking this is probably because my ideas about torrents etc is a bit old-fashioned.

Some background. I have a HTPC running Debian, running Kodi (for files/streams) and google-chrome (for netflix)
For torrents I use qBitTorrent, I save them in a directory Media, which Kodi has as one of its Music/Video sources.

With a remote app on the phone it is great to be able to play music on Kodi without having the TV on.
However there does not seem to be a way to control torrents from within Kodi, let alone on the remote?

If there is an add-on that lets you search for torrents and download them in a pre-selected folder (e.g. Media as above) then that would be great!
And if that add-on could run from the phone that would be completely ideal.

Does anyone know if torrent management using an add-on in Kodi is possible?
Switching from qBitTorrent to uTorrent or rTorrent (or other) is no problem.
Or should I not even want this and go straight to streaming?

Thanks!
Some torrent clients, eg transmission, have a web control which allows you to control from phone. I use rtorrent which is command line so I can SSH from my phone and control it.
Thanks @nickr. For myself I would prefer command-line tools. For other household members a smooth GUI (ideally integrated in kodi) is basically the only solution.. There seems to be a plugin http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:RTorrent for which rtorrent needs to be set up with an SCGI port. I suppose I should get that sorted :)

Then this post https://www.reddit.com/r/seedboxes/comme...or_seedbox suggests that the transmission plugin has torrents integrated?
