I am looking for a way to play only the audio of a video stream and show a thumbnail icon instead of the video.
the only way i found is opening a dialog window over the video (but this steals focus from the player and osd).
Is there a way of doing this?

I'm pretty sure that currently there is no way of doing this in Kodi. Somebody asked a similar question a while back in relation to music videos being treated as audio.
