Hi everyone,

Hope you can help me with this issue. I have been happily using kodi running in a windows 7 PC with synology NAS server for 3 years now, recently, I cannot say exactly when this started, when I try to reproduce some certain video files kodi just crashes. As I said, I do not know when this started but probably once I upgraded to
Jarvis, I don't remember this to be happening with previous releases on my configuration.

I have tried many different things, like installing Krypton beta 5, but the problem remains, the only difference now and before is now kodi just gets frozen, and before with Jarvis a windows error message "Error: Exception caught on main loop.exiting" was popping out.

I have also updated windows 7 to SP1 just in case.

Here is the log:

I will really appreciate some help to try to fix this issue.

Thanks in advance.
Jake did you have this issue after you updated your windows 7 with SP1? From the your log you do have an unusual amount (440) of dropping packet entries in that log. I suspect this to be a network or nas issue, but I'm not sure that explains the 'exception' (usually this is a catch all error), looks like Krypton B6 is up, might be a good idea to jump on that. Suggestion: Bring one of the movies over to a local source outside of the nas, and let's see if it plays nice with your set-up locally. should that be the case, then you know the issue lies in the network/nas, if we still have a problem we'll have to try some other tweaks in the video rendering or sync areas of the playback.
Hi PatK,

Thanks a lot for your feedback, I really appreciate it.

So, the problem was there even before, I just update windows to SP1 yesterday as troubleshooting, with no success. My setup has been working smoothly for almost 3 years now, but, since a couple of months ago some files faile to reproduce.

I just did as you suggested, I moved one of this movies that fails into the PC, I made Kodi to detect it, and the problem remains when try to play back, here is the log:

Then, If I try to reproduce the file with VLC there is no issue at all.

Thanks a lot.
Set-up for software rendering, and toggle settings>video>playback>sync playback to display. The brief moment I had to look at the log, there was some add-ons that might not be properly functional with the new Krypton, it would be great if you could temporarily disable them (thinking of Cinema Experience etc.). I would be interested in a test of your hardware to see if a totally striped version of Kodi 17B6 would fly properly, and you could do that in portable mode http://kodi.wiki/view/Windows_FAQ#Portable
