Running on Ubuntu 16.04 (64bit) on an Intel NUC
do you have the kodi ppa setup? I say this because:

Some (later) Ubuntu versions include Kodi built by Ubuntu themselves. If you have installed Ubuntu Kodi, please remove the packages "kodi kodi-bin kodi-data" before trying to install team-xbmc PPA packages.

sudo apt autoremove
sudo apt remove kodi kodi-bin kodi-data
sudo apt install software-properties-common
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa
sudo apt update
sudo apt install kodi

The first command will clean up your unneeded packages, let us know if thats any use?
Thank you this worked perfectly.
Your welcome pal Smile Glad it worked for you i thought you had the std ubuntu build installed they just dont compile it properly so you get the problems like you got!

Cam you edit the first post and choose [solved] as the header please.
I removed Kodi !7.1
I tryed to reinstall Kodi 17.4 and got this:

nikos@nikos-Presario-CQ58-Notebook-PC:~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/kodi-old

More information: https://launchpad.net/~team-xbmc/+archiv...u/kodi-old

OK"

I tryed to install with Kodi.deb but it stops to 9%

I did all these :

"sudo apt autoremove
sudo apt remove kodi kodi-bin kodi-data
sudo apt install software-properties-common
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa
sudo apt update
sudo apt install kodi"

but nothing
How can I solve this problem?
That: " ppa:team-xbmc/kodi-old" won't ever get you Kodi 17.4

please tell us which OS you are using. After that please get us the output of:

Code:
apt-cache policy kodi

then we'll see how it can be done.

That looks fine AFAICT. So just do:

Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kodi

If that doesn't work, please show us the error message you will get.

ok, first of all let´s install pastebinit:

Code:
sudo apt-get install pastebinit

Then we need for sure to remove the kodi-old ppa:

Code:
sudo apt-add-repostiory --remove ppa:team-xbmc/kodi-old

after that is done please do again:

Code:
apt-cache policy kodi | pastebinit

also please get us:

Code:
dpkg -l kodi kodi-bin | pastebinit

I guess you confused your system by trying to install kodi via deb-package and there might be some leftovers

You will receive URLs after you entered those commands. Please post those URLs in your next posting.

That is what you have written:

Quote:sudo apt-add-repostiory -remove ppa: team-xbmc / kodi-old

That is what I told you to enter at the terminal:

Quote:sudo apt-add-repostiory --remove ppa:team-xbmc/kodi-old

You missed a "-" before "remove"....you entered "-remove" but it needs to be "--remove" and you have whitespaces after "ppa:...." I didn´t mention anything like you have written.

The following also doesn´t make sense:

Quote:Nikos @ Nikos-Presario-CQ58-Notebook-PC: ~ $ sudo apt-get install pastebinit
...
...
The following NEW packages will be installed:
Pastebinite

The package is called "pastebinit" and not "pastebinitE"

So it´s pretty clear that those commands you entered:

Quote:Nikos @ nikos-Presario-CQ58-Notebook PC: ~ $ apt-cache policy kodi | Pastebinite
You are trying to send a blank document, close it.

won´t work.

If you aren´t able to copy the commands I gave you and paste them to your terminal, I can´t help you anymore. See what I´ve written and try again.

I did "copy and paste" your commands
This "Pastebinite" is not correct because of Google translation from Greek
I did all as you say
I say again " I did "copy and paste" your advices any mistakes are due to Google translation
I did all again and these are without translation
