Thank you Ricky, but maybe I didn´t explain myself correctly. I´d need to download the files from a Windows computer, so I can´t use Apt-get
What I would need is if there´s some URL from where I can get the files with the browser so I can download them and then take it to my ubuntu computer.
( Like
http://packages.ubuntu.com ).
Thank you!!
fede
apologies. i confess, i only skimmed your post and didn't notice the windows restriction.
Hallo, i tested today your files for the first time and want to ask how to enable vdpau with this files ? When i compile the linuxport myself i have vdpau support but not with your daily build from today
@MrDVD: it is my understanding that VDPAU is only available right now when compiling from source, not from the builds in the repository.
Yes.
It's only available by svn.
In fact, it's enabled on jaunty and not on Intrepid and hardy.
This is because, the VDPAU dev library is not available on those ubuntu version.
I am running Mandriva KDe4
I am wanting to know where I can find an rpm for XBCC for Mandriva 2009 KDE4,
If there is no RPM avail. how do I install from Shell
Sorry I am new to linux.
@sitzm:
Thanks!! Worked perfectly and could install the latest version (which fixed a very annoying bug) with no problems!
Hi all,
I noticed a missing dependancy with the PPA svn build 18943 for intrepid. It requires libavahi-client3 to be installed (while the former builds didn't) but there is no dependancy, resulting in the following error when loading xbmc:
/usr/share/xbmc/xbmc.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libavahi-client.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Hope this helps!
Thank you Gurney,
I am fixing that. I am also trying to enable VDPAU on intrepid fo rthe next packages. We are using this PPA as a dependency PPA to be able to enable it on intrepid :
https://launchpad.net/~thefirstm/+archive/ppa
Salut wattazoum,
The dependancy for the VDPAU misses with the today's svn, resulting in the following error on my box:
/usr/share/xbmc/xbmc.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libvdpau.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Is it a must have, whatever graphic chipset you have? Or is it something that you need to install only if you have an nVidia graphic card?
Cheers !
@gurney: The truth is I was thinking that it wasn't necessary to install VDPAU for non NVidia card (since we do runtime detection). But the library is still needed to do the detection. This results into the XBMC binary requiring the library. We discussed yesterday this matter looking for a solution. The next package should solve this issue.
Anyway, I have tested that one can install the NVidia driver to solve this issue. The driver won't be used.
I don't know exactly when this happened but right now I'm on my knees praising the holy coders from xbmc- heaven for making it possible to update an entry without losing the seen-flag!
Oh XBMC, I love you! :p
