RE: [Release] New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - UsefulG - 2015-11-27

@Darkstar_Surfer just a heads up although you haven't asked for help with the other add-on it is actually one of the banned add-ons (wiki) and a friendly suggestion that you edit your post to remove reference to that add-on.

As an aside, it's great to see British tennis back but suspect it is all down to the Murrays in the doubles and then Andy in the singles whether we win it.

RE: [Release] New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - LimeyGeeza - 2015-12-05

Just installed this add-on on Kodi 14.2 but it constantly buffers for some reason - no other add-ons do this (ITV player runs perfectly for example) - the stream will play for about 10 seconds then buffer, play, buffer...

Is this a known issue and is there a fix?

I would imagine the stream bitrate is too high for your connection, especially if your home network is busy. Try turning off automatic play in Settings and find the best stream source and bitrate for you. The default for live streams is 5.1Mbps which is too much for my connection.

That worked!!! Thanks so much for helping a newb - I had no idea I could change that setting, now working flawlessly.

RE: [Release] New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - tenpercent - 2015-12-12

I'm using v1.2.9 of the app on my OpenELEC'd RPi (v14.2 of Kodi), and I've noted that I no longer can view Live TV for any of the channels available. I've also noted that when I do a search for a program (after I select the first letter of the program title), no matches are returned. This anomaly has only recently started occurring (the last time it worked fine was on the evening of December 5th). I am using this app in the United States.

I've noted the following in the kodi.log when I attempt to view Live TV:

Is it the same on a desktop computer? If it is, then the BBC has blocked your VPN. You will have to move to the UK or find a better VPN provider. Remember globalisation is only for corporations, plebs are just there to be exploited. Wink

RE: [Release] New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - tenpercent - 2015-12-12

If I apply the same DNS approach that I'm using on my RPi to a Win7 PC in my home, I'm able to view iPlayer with no issues.

urllib3 is saying the root certificates are out of date. I don't know offhand how to update them but I am using OpenElec 6.0.0 on a rpi with no problems. You could try and update OpenElec.

RE: [Release] New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - tenpercent - 2015-12-12

Changing to another pair (primary/secondary) of DNS servers on the RPi got the app back up and running. Re-configuring back to the original pair also resulted in the app working. Very strange. I'll look into an OpenELEC update (I'm running v5.0.8).

Thanks for the assistance!

I have openElec 6 running version 1.2.9, my VPN is private internet Access.
This set up on my laptop works just fine, but on the WeTek box won't run at all - comes up with Iplayer error.
Any ideas please

As long as your VPN is in the UK we can help. Wink
Are you sure your WeTek box is using the same DNS server as your laptop?

Hi - thanks for this - first off VPN is Uk London.
The Dns servers are different despite using the same sources.

the laptop has DNS Primary 209.222.18.222 and secondary 209.222.18.218 and the wetek box has a primary of 192.168.1.254 and has no secondary.

HOWEVER think I have solved the problem by changing the settings in STREAMS.

I have changed from any & fastest to AKAMI and 5.5 - at the moment I have Iplayer working in all areas , Live, Radio, T.V.

That's good that it works. Is your router set up for the VPN or just the laptop? It actually shouldn't matter too much which DNS server you use if it is a full VPN and not just a smart DNS service. I should have said as long as you are in the UK as well as your VPN. But don't answer that.

RE: [Release] New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - tredman - 2015-12-15

Addon is not working for me, seemed to go down this morning.

Is it working for anyone else?

Live TV is working but catch-up "tried search on Most Popular" appears to go into spinning disc black hole at the moment.

Here is a general debug log if its helpful?

I had to stop and restart Kodi from ssh as OpenELEC millhouse testbuild #1214 , became completely unresponsive on Rpi2

Catch-up working fine last night
