RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - rajko - 2018-11-28

Hi everybody,

I've recently installed Kodi 18 (nightly) on my RB Pi 3 to be able to watch Netlfix (I'm new to Netflix, in trial period).
It worked fine for a few days but since Sunday I can't launch any movie (even those that worked fine before), although I can browse the Netflix repository just fine.

It looks like "plugin://plugin.video.netflix/?action=play_video..." request is returning no data.
You can see the log here: https://paste.kodi.tv/idohaqibas.kodi

I've contacted Netflix support but they are not able to help me as RB Pi is not on their list of supported devices.

Any help would be greatly appreciated Smile

Netflix on kodi isn’t working for most of us at the moment for the last day or so, have a check back over the last days worth of posts on this forum.

Dev will be furiously working as we speak

Is this error maybe because box probably dont have Widevine L1... with (un)official app I can play and watch but only in 480p resolution?
I don't think that is the problem. I have a galaxy s9, with Widevine, HDR supoort (which isn't working, another story), etc. and the same thing happened to me. Before 18 RC, when i installed the netflix plugin, the KODI immediately crashed and i after that crashed every time, when i started. The Release Candidate version isn't crash, but send the same Widevine Cryptosession errors. When i install the plugin i can browse netflix, but i could not play any video. Android 8.0.

RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - webmaher - 2018-11-28

thanks "Petrov" … we have exactly the same problem... and i have also MX10 box and also got Widevine CryptoSession error… on the both box with (un)official app Netflix work with resolution 480p... so its really strange why with addon no go... Whats happen if we try copy widevinecdm.dll just like in windows 10?

Another thing, i forgot. I have an mini mx amlogic box with Coreelec (wihout widevine l1 support) where the plugin working very well, and streaming in 720p. So it's suspicious that the Android 8 is the problem...

RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - rajko - 2018-11-28

A workaround was posted for RB Pi 3 (should work on 2 as well) at https://github.com/asciidisco/plugin.video.netflix/issues/555, search for JakerMX_MSL_Workaround.zip. It consists of two .py files which go into .kodi/addons/plugin.video.netflix/resources/lib. I tried the workaround just now and after copying those two files and rebooting it's working fine (i.e. I can watch videos again). I'm using netflix plugin version 0.13.19 on Kodi 18 nightly.
