Will I be able to backup to my Fire stick setup to my PC then transfer it to my Andriod TV box with ADB? Yes, depending on the box. adbLink has been tested with Nvidia Shield TV and the Xiaomi Mi box (USA #3), both Android TV. The only connection I have working for the Mi is USB, so for that box you need a USB A male/male cable as well. RE: adbLink 2.07: Windows/Mac/Linux Companion for Kodi - Silrog - 2017-02-22 I ran into some problems with my Kodi installation and now I'm doing a backup, before I swipe the installation. Is there an option to restore just specific folders afterwards? Likewise I'd wish it would be possible ignore some userdata during backup. 820 MB of Thumbnails is insane and a waste. RE: adbLink 2.07: Windows/Mac/Linux Companion for Kodi - jocala - 2017-02-22 Sorry, no. RE: adbLink 3.0: Windows/Mac/Linux Companion for Kodi - jocala - 2017-03-04 adbLink 3.0 changelog Parallel background processes: Potentially lengthy jobs (backup, restore, etc) are now assigned a job ID and the running state is displayed in a listbox. New file manager: Easy move/copy/delete of files and folders on Android devices. Copy multiple files and folders from Android devices to PC/Mac or from PC/Mac to Android device. The progress bar style activity indicator has been replaced by a color-changing icon. It turns green while background processes are running, blue when the job queue is empty. The listbox of connected devices now shows device name not IP address/USB serial number. For USB-connected devices, the serial number is displayed only for devices that have not been entered into the adbLink database. File selection dialogs, log viewers and editors are now resizeable. Fixed: adbLink not working in space-embedded folder Uninstall APK search filter fixed Keypad button help/tooltip corrected Easy edit of Kodi XML files on any platform. Local IP address reported in log file. Toast-style notifications added Message added for device connection errors Stop ADB button focus issue fixed Root menu restored for /system partition mount Check for updates button in device record restored Menu function: Kodi Data Usage added. Shows amount of space used by Kodi data. Menu function: ADB/WIFI. Enables ADB debugging over WIFI for devices that lack this feature. Moving Kodi data updates Kodi partition in device record Data move routine now checks for valid media center data before writing /sdcard/xbmc_env.properties file. adbLink is tested on Windows/Mac/Linux with Amazon Fire TV devices, Nvidia Shield TV, and Xiaomi Mi Box 3 available for download at http://www.jocala.com RE: adbLink 3.0: Windows/Mac/Linux Companion for Kodi - jocala - 2017-03-04 New videos: An overview of adbLink 3.0 https://youtu.be/c1k3PQhdl50 An overview of the adbLink 3.0 File Manager https://youtu.be/SZkDjbhluOk RE: adbLink 3.0: Windows/Mac/Linux Companion for Kodi - XorCist - 2017-03-26 Can you make it so there is an OK button, after a restore? It only stays up for a few seconds and if im not watching, I'll miss if it says Restore Complete, or Restore Failed. Thanks a ton for this great tool! Jury's still out on the toast-style notifications, but in the meantime, just check your log if you miss one. That will tell you if your restore succeeded as well. Thanks a ton for this great tool! +1 on leaving the notifications up until the user closes them (if it's possible). Thank you, RE: adbLink 3.1: Windows/Mac/Linux Companion for Kodi - jocala - 2017-05-02 adbLink 3.1 changelog 05/01/17 The file manager is now root-aware. Perform common file management functions (copy, move, rename, mkdir, etc) on the /system and /data partitions if your device is rooted. When upgrading adbLink versions, data is preserved. Tested with adbLink 2.04 and up. The database and log files are now stored in a standard directory located in the user's $HOME. Mac users can now run adbLink without admin privileges. The progress bar activity indicator is back. Devices can be accessed on an ad hoc basis: double-clicking a USB serial number or entering an IP address on-the-fly allows interaction with the device w/o first creating a device record. In this case, Kodi defaults are assumed. Notification messages: toast-style messages or normal style is now a preference, with normal set as default. A global folder location for files copied from your device is set to your system $HOME. Changed to a global location of your preference, or overridden by a per-device preference in a device record. Keypad now uses device address as dialog title Log filename defaults to kodi.log or spmc.log depending on configuration System help updated http://www.jocala.com New video for adbLink v3.1 will be available later this week. RE: adbLink 3.1: Windows/Mac/Linux Companion for Kodi - GXstick - 2017-05-06 Hello my name is Scott. I'm a Mac user that jailbreaks many fire sticks using ADBLink and the Keyboard Maestro Macro. I like all of the improvements accept for 1 major thing. Sometimes on ADB Link 3.1 when restoring Kodi, the Kodi restore will fail, upon second attempt it will say "Local Kodi Restore" instead of the device name and Kodi Restore. And this will also fail. At this point ADB Link 3.1 will be completely frozen. After force quitting ADB Link, Almost all of the applications on my macbook will be deleted, even the ones that are currently open. When I try to open an application that is deleted, but still in the dock it will have a Question mark over it. When I go to the application folder all of the applications are either deleted or corrupted except for a few such as Safari and iMovie that came with the Mac. This has happened to me across multiple Mac Books, and multiple times on the same Mac Book. This is a huge issue that I never noticed with version 3.0 I will go back to version 3.0 and see if this issue goes away. I will update if I determine any more pertinent information. Works perfectly on my iMAC. RE: adbLink 3.1: Windows/Mac/Linux Companion for Kodi - GXstick - 2017-05-06 I was able to recreate it. When Restoring Kodi. Running Job must read "Local Kodi restore" ADB Link must be Force Quit while this is running. It also deletes almost all the files on the desktop. I didn't have any other programs running besides ADB Link I recommend backing up your computer before trying. Scott |
