when I play a 3d bluray from a mounted iso it simply plays in 2D - heres the debug log: only 2d playback

The debug log I provided is with fullscreen disabled. This is when the black screen issue occurs using KodiSetup-20160401-7dc189d-msdk_mvc_wip.exe

Description: 0403 build issue #1 python27.dll error on startup. Issue #2 - 3D mode switches on at start of playback, playback does not go well, black screen with single frames on occasion. full CPU usage going on
How to reproduce: Issue 1, upgrade from 0401 build to 0403 build and get python27.dll error, manually copy python27.dll to kodi folder fixes startup issue. Issue #2 : Play 3D iso file.

Afaik, python27.dll is a v.17 nightly issue so your build (0403 ) is going to reflect that.
I don't have the problem using KodiSetup-20160401-7dc189d-msdk_mvc_wip.exe although it looks like this build was removed also.
1st page OP are the builds we should be testing I think and that has not been modified by afedchin since the 25th.

I just want to say that I'm sorry for the erroneous statement that I made in my earlier post. 4/3 build indeed has the python.dll error. I had downloaded that build and thought that I had installed it. I had actually installed the second of the 4/1 builds. Once python.dll is copied to Kodi folder, the only issue I have with 4/3 build is the lip-sync error (that we are now beating to death). 3D playback seems to be fine on my system.
Since @afedchin has made it clear that only the builds that he posts in this thread are the ones to be tested and discussed, I guess it's a moot point discussing these 4/3 or 4/1 builds.

I finally have everything set up and I've tried a few MVC files with my NUC 2820.
I have lip sync issues on all of them. Some are smaller than others. The worst that I tested was probably The Walk, it was like 5-10 seconds with the sound ahead of the picture.
I thought you guys said it was only on ISOs

I also noticed quite a few issues when I was skipping chapters on the MVC movies, like loss of sound. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes not.
Dunno if you need a log of me testing a few MVCs with chapter skips.
Also, last night I tried watching The Hateful 8 from a MKV that I converted with Handbrake so the video bitrate is around 10000 mbps and it was choppy, like skipping frames and trying to catch up.
I stopped it and watched it on my other Windows HTPC running Jarvis and no problems there.
So today I figured I would start the movie again on the NUC and upload a log here but it didn't have the issue this time, hmmm...
Anyway, after that I watched In the Heart of the Sea 3D MVC and after doing the quick RW to get a good lip sync (noggin
) all was well in 3D and Atmos!

3-21 build is still the only one that works well but today was experiencing screen tearing/banding for a time and some audio sync issues. Anything after the 21st has all sorts of problems so that's what I'll stick with for now.
Shame on Team Kodi for not getting this feature into the full version of Krypton even though its's many months from even hitting beta for general users. Short-sighted ignorance again, sadly.

I think you may have misread this. I think what afedchin is saying is that the mainline (i.e. official) Windows Krypton v17 release won't have 3D MVC. I don't think he's saying that there won't be Krypton builds here at some point with it. Presumably it will take a while to get into mainline (possibly for v18?)
There were the same issues with getting the brilliant Linux Intel EGL developments into mainline. It took a while.
