henryF could I ask for pointer on how to achieve the addition of your server alongside musicbrainz? I tried changing the webservice.py but then couldnt start HP at all ? I am running the HP.py & not the windows .exe BTW
Also HP snatches the torrent ( yes I am still using them rather then the nzb..) but dosent load them giving the bencoding error, But if I go on manage artists and view the results there then clicking on torrent file there then loads the torrent ? any idea

I started over from scratch with the new version and its not pulling in any 'official' albums. For example, lamb of god yields an empty artist page and a ton of errors like this in the log:

Call the python-file from the command line, it should output an error-message why it doesn't startup after you changed the lines. Be aware that python is relies heavily on intendation

@Discotech: Unfortunately, I'm out of answers at this point Sad (but I also have to say, that I myself currently do not use headphones... so I can't really test around...)

Sometimes when I download an album, some songs are missing. Today I downloaded an album with 11 songs and I only got 10 of them.
Is it possible to set only the one missing song as 'wanted'? If not, could this option be implemented?

The 503 errors will (hopefully!) go away as more people update to the latest versions. The older versions are unfortunately still hammering away at the musicbrainz servers

The guys at musicbrainz are thinking about adding in an rss feed too which will speed things up and lower the server requests, but they need some perl hackers to help out. If you want to lend a hand head on over to #musicbrainz-devel on freenode

hey guys, just wanted to give you a heads up, I have too much crap going on right now, so I am officially taking myself out of the running for this project for the time being. I still may work on stuff, and if I do I will post here and on GitHub ASAP, but I don't want anybody to be like "Well I was going to do it, but Sleepy's already working on that so I won't."

Got dragged into helping re-launch a website, so even though work has been slowing down, my personal workload has actually increased Sad I will try to read and highlight relevant code where possible, but I doubt I'll have time to do actual development, especially in a language I don't really properly know.

It sucks because the issues I was gonna fix are holding me up from being able to actually use Headphones, and it looks like the main development team (like rembo) have their hands full working out the main MusicBrainz functionality, which is crucial to Headphones being able to work for anybody.

I came here to post that mine isn't working but see a few posts back that others are having similar issues. I've reinstalled and reinstalled python and left myself with only 1 artist. Here's my logs;

Pretty obvious again .. unless I'm wrong its headphones having problems communicating with mucicbrainz .....

Since I stopped using Henry Ford's mirror, and back to musicbrainz I have this problem.. not a big deal because for the next 8 weeks my systems will be shutdown so I'm hoping when I put it back online there will be tons of updates to do!!! Wink

Okay, so I'm the true linux embodiment of the phrase 'knowing just enough to be dangerous." In other words, a moron, and I come to you, dear forum, for help. Feeling reasonably cool after installing the latest XBMCbuntu, mapping my network drives to local directories and installing SAB, Sick and Couch, I figured I'd do the same with Headphones.

I followed the install as a daemon directions... NOT!

cd ~/headphones
Adjust settings in init.ubuntu (installpath and run as user)
sudo cp init.ubuntu /etc/init.d/headphones
sudo chmod +x /etc/init.d/headphones
sudo update-rc.d headphones defaults
sudo /etc/init.d/headphones start | stop | reload | restart

I, idiotically, forgot to adjust the settings in init.ubuntu before running the following commands, and now, when I try the last two lines, I get some nonsense about how the defaults are already loaded, or some such.

My question--nay, my PLEA, gentle reader, is for someone to decode Linux enough for me to figure out how to undo all I did, so I can just start over, at trying to get Headphones to start with the system.

Help!

edit as needed, should work ok....looks to me like the init script pulls settings from that.

To be clear I used LaSi to install it though.

I don't believe there's a /etc/default/headphones file. Just brings up a blank screen. Tried both vi and nano.
