I'm actually having this issue as well. After scanning my music directory it 'discovered' only about 40% of the artists. And we aren't talking about obscure musicians with complex names either.

The log isn't very helpful - is there a debug mode that I can enable to further troubleshoot the issue?

RE: Headphones - Music albums & artists NZB auto download program - simonk83 - 2012-05-27

I'm now getting this in the console:

28-May-2012 07:00:11 - INFO :: Thread-13 : Found a match in the database: *album*. Verifying to make sure it is the correct
album
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\Python27\lib\logging\handlers.py", line 78, in emit
self.doRollover()
File "C:\Python27\lib\logging\handlers.py", line 141, in doRollover
os.rename(self.baseFilename, dfn)
WindowsError: [Error 32] The process cannot access the file because it is being
used by another process
Logged from file logger.py, line 60

And there are 4 unprocessed albums sitting there. I tried downloading another album and that seems to process fine so I've no idea what's going on. I saw a previous issue which stated to delete the log file, but that hasn't helped.

EDIT: Although, all 4 albums are .wav files... not sure if that's making a difference. Seems a co-incidence Smile

For the automatic Post Processing the album has to have been snatched

Force Post Process should work as long as the folder is named as above

At least that's how I think it works, hopefully someone will confirm/correct!

Rembo / HenryF ; regarding the post processing . If one has to manually clear the Tag's and organise proper order of folders & file names then why does one need Post processing? or in an Alternate way, is there anyway HP could automate Post processing as well? let me explain;
Headphones is excellent & I appreciate all the great work you guys have done here but the renaming & folder structure + moving files to destination & proper tagging and then fetching metadata/artwork/lyrics etc should that not be all a synchronized process with HP..i.e Automated .
If headphone Could have the ability to edit tags + Rename +Organise in proper folder structure + moves files+ fetch artwork ( including cdart.png if possible--- maybe from fanart.tv) / embed Lyrics then that would be the epitome of functionality ( even if only for the snatched albums).
Headphones is excellent & I appreciate all the great work you guys have done here.

Yeah, my albums are in that format. It's not a naming issue unfortunately.

RE: Headphones - Music albums & artists NZB auto download program - ragemachinest - 2012-06-03

I'm having the same issue as smilerz. I haven't been able to get the directory scan to pick up more than a handful of artists out of a few hundred. Of the artists it does pick up, it doesn't pick up all of the files for the albums. It might pick up one album and the next one it won't, even though they have the same naming format.

I am having some trouble.... doesn't seem to snatch anything even after finding it.

Code:

I have entered my Sab settings correctly, but I don't see in the log where its trying to snatch anything. ;(

The VIP server is going down for a few hours while the database gets updated to the new musicbrainz schema. Headphones backend has been updated to ngs, more updates & bug fixes soon :-)

EDIT: Server has been updated, but for some reason it's throwing out HTTP 400 errors when accessed through headphones. Working on a fix now!

EDIT2: Aaaand we're back..... Thanks for being patient!

Quick Q - Headphones tells me that I am 35 commits behind. This status does not change after updating. See version number below. I am on Win7x64.

Version: 224e19b359a5df988cd61e22eb5414f5b93382b0

Any thoughts?

I had the same problem for weeks, when suddenly I clicked on the update link and it updated to the latest interface.. Not sure about code changes though, I still have a lot of problems.

1-Some albums downloaded as new have more songs than intended (ex 13/12 ??)
2-Add a new artist, wait for HP to update the artist's info, and then I click on the checkbox on top of the album's list to select all albums and click "Mark selected albums as: Wanted", Headphones randomly mark some albums as wanted, but some of them as still "Skipped". I have to check them manually as wanted.. Very annoying.

3-If I "update" an album to a better quality (lets say flac), I click on retry lossless and HP retrieves the album as FLAC but the MP# (the old) album is still in the music folder. The new folder with the FLAC files is renamed with a "[1]" at the end of the file name,. Why don't HP just delete the MP3 folderHuh

4-Some albums are marked as Downloaded (highlighted in Green) and HP says 0/10 as downloaded songs.. The files are indeed in the music folder so the counter is mistaken (should be 10/10)..

5-To restart fresh for some artists that were all screwed up, I deleted the mp3 files, then deleted the artist in HP only to find out a few minutes later that HP re-added the artist on its own.. Shouldnt happen. Took 3 or 4 trials to get it right.

6-Some files are marked as "Unknown" format and listed as not available in HP but they are indeed in the MP3 files and have the flac extension...Why dont hP see these files?

7-The list of files in HP looks something like:
1 Gimme Sheldon 03:58 Unknown
2 Couch Surfer 02:51 195 kbps MP3
3 Drinking in L.A. 03:55 170 kbps MP3
4 Problems 01:42 194 kbps MP3
5 Highway to Heck 00:59 152 kbps MP3
6 Forest (English version) 03:44 181 kbps MP3
7 Rainshine 03:30 197 kbps MP3
8 Carry On 04:50 170 kbps MP3
9 Afrodiziak 04:38 157 kbps MP3
10 Lucknow 02:09 169 kbps MP3
11 Cum on Feel the Noize 03:21 199 kbps MP3
12 Exactly Like Me! 03:33 220 kbps MP3
13 Everywhere 03:56 186 kbps MP3
14 Une Chanson 02:35 174 kbps MP3
15 Old School 02:47 189 kbps MP3
16 Willard 02:25 172 kbps MP3
17 Supermodel 05:23 177 kbps MP3
18 Oblonging 01:18 Unknown
19 Mama Don't Smoke... 01:56 Unknown

But the files in the MP3 folder are actually:

01 Gimme Sheldon.mp3
02 Couch Surfer.mp3
03 Drinking In L.A..mp3
04 Problems.mp3
05 Highway To Heck.mp3
06 Forest (English Version).mp3
07 Rainshine.mp3
08 Carry On.mp3
09 Afrodiziak.mp3
10 Lucknow.mp3
11 Cum On Feel The Noize.mp3
12 Exactly Like Me.mp3
13 Everywhere.mp3
14 Une Chanson.mp3
15 Oblinging.mp3
16 Old School.mp3
17 Willard.mp3

See files #15 to 19 are all screwed up...

While the application's interface is MUCH better, I doubt the code is mature enough. For now, Im half way between going back to the good ol' days when I was downloading & managing my music manually, and using HP.

Anybody else are having these issuesHuh

That's my main annoyance at the moment.

RE: Headphones - Music albums & artists NZB auto download program - Dilligaf - 2012-06-11

I'm the opposite, I don't want Headphones deleting anything. If I want something deleted I'll do it myself. What happens if something screws up and half my music collection is deleted? Maybe I still want the mp3's for my portable music player.

I had a problem with headphones updating and the fix was to add the path to git.exe in my /headphones/config.ini the line looks like this

git_path = C:\Program Files (x86)\Git\bin\git.exe

RE: Headphones - Music albums & artists NZB auto download program - lpallard - 2012-06-11

I agree with the delete thing, but it should be at least a switch or an option somewhere in the app... As for deleting the whole collection, a backup is priceless... I backup every week.

Instead of deleting the duplicate folders, why not moving them to a different location, for example "/music/obsolete" or something like that? If you want to keep the MP3 files for a MP3 player, then this folder could be called "/music/Portable Player Files" and HP would move them over there..

Nevertheless, this is more of an annoyance, but nothing compared to the other problems I have... The others are making HP more of a gadget than a real app like SB or CP, which I believe shouldnt be the case. HP has lots of potential! Smile

Are you using the windows' binary (i.e. the "exe"-file?).
If so, you have to wait until I update, hadn't had any time in the past few days, so you have to wait for an update until tonight...
However - you have to download the update manually, there is no Auto-Update.
You can check the latest version I have on my server via http://tbueter.com/tools/version.txt - this string matches the version I compiled and uploaded (it is the GIT-commit-hashtag).
Download the new version, if it's available, via the usual link ( http://www.tbueter.com/tools/headphones_win32build.zip ) and just unzip it to the headphones-folder, replacing old files.

Actually not using the windows binary. I am running python on Windows. I don't know what changed now, but auto-updated used to work and only now I am facing issues. No idea what's wrong. Also tried manual udpate withou success. It keeps saying that I am 35 committs behind...

Any more thoughts?
