ferrytale Wrote:Okay that is what I have done my ip adress is 192.168.1.2

Now in the settings of MediaDog I have put this ip adress but it says you have to put the ip adress and then the hostname with :.

What does that mean?

It means ip address or hostname, just enter the ip address, if that still doesn't work, can you enter the following command into your command window and tell me the output

netstat -an | findstr 8081

- ferrytale - 2011-09-29

I have typed at the command prompt C:\>netstat -an | findstr 8081
But it returns to the C:\> with no message on screen.

Try and access it through a browser BEFORE trying to access it through Mediadog. If you can do one you can do the other.

Try "http://198.168.1.2:8081/home" from your phones webrowser.

198.168.1.2 is your local ip
8081 is the port you access sickbeard through.

Mind you you'll need to make sure your phone is connected to your network for this to work Wink

It still isn't working for me.

I have tried what you said through my phones webbrowser but nothing happens (my phone is connected to my wireless network),I have tried it over 3g aswell but also did not work.

Port 8081 is open and forwarded in my router.

Really? That would suggest that you don't actually have sickbeard running on port 8081 on that machine.

Do you actually have sickbeard installed on your windows pc?

- ferrytale - 2011-09-29

It is installed on my pc because when I go to http://localhost:8081/home/ on my desktop pc I am in the main screen of sickbeard.

strange problem I think and I would love to work with the app so I hope you can help me further with it.

Do you have any other devices that you might be able to test this with? Perhaps your firewall is blocking external access? You might need to turn your software firewall and router firewall off to test this?

Quote:I have tried it over 3g aswell but also did not work.
You would need your external ip for that and not your local ip.

Do you currently have any other servers running? eg. apache/sabnzbd/utorrent.
If so are you able to access any of those over your network?

paste the first few lines of your config.ini file found in your sickbeard directory

for example mine looks like this

[General]
log_dir = Logs
web_port = 8081
web_host = 0.0.0.0
web_ipv6 = 0
web_log = 0

- ferrytale - 2011-09-30

Mine first few lines look exactly the same as yours.

I think I am near to the solution now and I think the settings are almost oke now because I can get to sickbeard through the webbrowser of my phone.
But when I open the MediaDog app on my phone I can open the sickbeard instance but I do not see any of my shows I have added.

In my experience I could not access sickbeard externally until I gave it a unique port address, I used 7458 for example, only then did it work correctly for me.

- ferrytale - 2011-09-30

What do you mean by externally?

After you did that you could open the program via the app or through the webbrowser of your phone?

Great job with this Smile It all looks awesome on a phone but the sickbeard view doesn't work too well on a tablet. Still, early days yet, looking forward to seeing where this goes Smile

Externally means from outside my home network. I set-up sickbeard a long time ago and it worked from the browser, setting up media dog with my external home IP and port made it work fine

Hi All,
MediaDog 0.5.0 is now available on the first page. Please let me know of any issue with this. If no major issues crop up it will be pushed down to market users in a few days.
Major change in this release are complete SAB overhaul & addition of history actions.
Also fixed bug where settings page would not open.
Cheers,
Ian
