DRM issue here with my Ubuntu box.

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - john.doe - 2013-04-18

Started getting the DRM error today while trying to watch amazon. This is the first time it has happened. Any idea how to fix? Chatted with Amazon support and the guy insisted they didnt change DRM or anything else recently.

Just chiming in on the DRM issues.

I'm experiencing this as well. What a shame! I hope someone can find a solution.

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - riznob - 2013-04-18

I also just started seeing the error...

DRM Detected
This video uses FLASH_ACCESS DRM

I spoke with amazon support. The rep said there is a ticket open currently to make it work on xbmc. He had no ETA and not really any helpful information other than that it is being worked on and the last update to the ticket was april 5th.

(2013-04-18, 01:28)Romans I XVI Wrote: I am assuming this problem in xbmc is related to the problem people are having playing amazon videos in their browser. The most recent flash update 11.2.202.280-1 breaks amazon playback. I am not sure how the xbmc plugin works but since it just broke around the same time as the in browser flash problem im guessing there is a connection.

see here

and
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=161288

These links suggest the problem is a new flashplugin version 280. Several posts suggest downgrading to v. 243. I tried that but still have the problem.

yeah i got it working through the browser on my linux machine, even with the newest version of flash, but it still doesnt work in xbmc so i am guessing its something with the addon. hopefully this will get fixed.

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - hellohello - 2013-04-18

Amazon had done this before, about a year ago (see pages 28,29 or posts 275-280 of this thread) and BlueCop is NOT a fan of encrypted flash implementation.

Sure hope this gets resolved soon. With Netflix being iffy at best, losing Amazon might just push me back to cable.

I wrote Amazon and here is their response. Looks like it's likely they'll get this fixed, hopefully.

Outsourcing at its best. Anyone here speak Hindi?

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - Citizen_Seven - 2013-04-18

I have to wonder about testing. How many people are going to be very irate if they buy an Ouya box from Amazon in June, complete with XBMC last I heard, and Amazon content won't play on it?

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - emaurer - 2013-04-18

I just got this reply from Amazon.
~~~~~
I'm sorry for the trouble you had streaming Amazon Instant Videos on the XBMC.
I understand that you’ve received a DRM error while trying to stream videos.
Unfortunately, at this time, Amazon Instant Videos cannot be streamed on the XBMC. I'm sorry if this causes any disappointment.
You can visit the link below to see a list of our currently supported devices for Amazon Instant Video:
RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - john.doe - 2013-04-18
Well that is bullshit because XMBC has been able to stream amazon prime for a long, long time. If they are going to discontinue support of XBMC and start using DRM then I want my $80 Amazon Prime membership back, which means I wont be ordering products from Amazon again either
