I've uploaded a new fix that should prevent the lockup when stopping LiveTV. I will look at the sorting later.

- dubstar_04 - 2011-10-04

just had a quick test and i can confirm that live can be started, stopped and restarted and channels can be switched with no obvious issues.

I will test further tonight.

Thank you,

Dubstar_04

The recordings view uses the same order as the video file view. I guess you would prefer to have a separate setting for the recordings and video files?

Yeah I think so. I tend to browse videos by name and tv by recorded date.

Not had chance to do much testing. I've been watching the apple presentation about the next iPhone!

I should of just tested xbmcSmile

Do you have screen shots of mythtv using this new plugin?

- tsp42 - 2011-10-06

The sorting selectin should now be saved in the latest github commit.

dubstar_04: The apple presention is not the same without Jobs.

vskatusa: The plugin just uses the standard XBMC PVR GUI. I've attached some screen shots here

The sorting seems to be working now. Also the sorting settings is remembered after restart. Would it be possible to also save the epg view selection so that it would be remembered after restart?

One thing that I noticed was that there is a strange behavior when I switch between epg and the recordings. When I select the first channel from the epg and then move to recordings, the first recording is always selected. But if I select the second or third channel from epg and then move to recordings view, the selection has jumped to fifty or so recordings downward. I don't know if this can even called a bug but just something that caught my eye Smile

I will keep testing...

tsp42, thx for the images....How do i install the plugin in my xbmc windows 7 machine? Does it show the Recorded programs as well?

- mronkko - 2011-10-08

I tested this plugin and noted a two issues

1) The thumbnails generated by MythTV are not shown when browsing through recordings (see e.g. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/5/screenshot004dn.png/)

2) With some recordings, the seeking forward will cause the player to exit and return to the list of recordings. There is no such seeking problem when viewing the same recording with MyhtFrontend or streaming from MyhtWeb with VLC.

Here is the relevant log for the seek failure https://gist.github.com/1271937

Also, when I start XBMC the home screen shows "next recording" to be in 11-23-2009. This is a recording rule that records shows with a particular string in the title. I added the recording rule in 2009, so this might be where the data comes from.

Here is the relevant row from the record table:

INSERT INTO `record` (`recordid`, `type`, `chanid`, `starttime`, `startdate`, `endtime`, `enddate`, `title`, `subtitle`, `description`, `category`, `profile`, `recpriority`, `autoexpire`, `maxepisodes`, `maxnewest`, `startoffset`, `endoffset`, `recgroup`, `dupmethod`, `dupin`, `station`, `seriesid`, `programid`, `search`, `autotranscode`, `autocommflag`, `autouserjob1`, `autouserjob2`, `autouserjob3`, `autouserjob4`, `findday`, `findtime`, `findid`, `inactive`, `parentid`, `transcoder`, `playgroup`, `prefinput`, `next_record`, `last_record`, `last_delete`, `storagegroup`, `avg_delay`) VALUES
(10, 5, 1003, '20:00:00', '2009-11-23', '21:00:00', '2009-11-23', 'Diili', '', 'Finalistien valinta.', '0', 'Default', 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 'Default', 6, 15, 'MTV3', '4915241', '', 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 2, '20:00:00', 734099, 0, 0, 28, 'Default', 0, '0000-00-00 00:00:00', '2011-09-26 20:55:15', '0000-00-00 00:00:00', 'Default', 100),

This is such a great addon, I can't believe how well it works for only being available this long. Thanks a lot for all of your hard work.

I wanted to post my log file for something I'm noticing. When I first start XBMC my EPG data and information for any channels is blank. If I go into the settings and reset the EPG database all the data then shows up and I can browse the EPG and view other live channel info. Not sure what might cause this to fail during startup. I turned on the additional debug logging for the addon and uploaded my log file. In it I did a clean start, tried to access the data, then reset it and tried again.

Thanks again for this great addon, xbmc/myth users should be very happy.

Hey tsp,

Just wanted to say thanks! Been a long time myth user and wasn't willing to give it up to get working pvr in xbmc (I'm not a big fan of the other backends). You are a lifesaver!

Just wanted to put in a small request: when dushmaniac merges the mainline code into his repo, will you merge it with your code? You suffer from the thumbnail corruption bug that I believe has since been fixed in the main repo. I think it also causes random crashes when browsing in the regular movie library (something that does not occur in file view) - not pvr related.... but there you go!

Keep up the good work,

Jim

Just wanted to make a quick comment on this; I don't think the EPG view selection is related to the pvr client. Under the EPG settings in XBMC there is a "default" view where you change the EPG to always open under Now, Timeline, Next, etc when you go into the Live TV mode. Changing it here defaulted to the one I wanted to see for me.

- tsp42 - 2011-10-09

takiaine: I agree with robweber view on the save EPG view selection.
The jumpy selection in the records list sounds like a bug. But maybe not a high priority bug and probable located in the XBMC PVR source code.

vskatusa: You will have to wait till I update the windows build. It should take to long (or download visual studio express 2010 from microsoft and compile the code your self) and yes you can also view the recorded programs (although it is already possible in the standard XBMC).

mronkko: I'm not sure that recording thumbnails are supported in the XBMC PVR code and I have not yet implemented the thumbnail code for channels the add-on.
Could you try enabling the additional debug logging for the addon and upload the log-file from one of seeking forward error?
Currently all timers in the record table will be shown. I'm working on improving the support for the mythTV recording rules and that should fix this.

robweber: I've seen this too once. In the log file it looks like it caused by some invalid start and end time for the EPG view (left-overs from a previous XBMC installation?).

Jezz_X: You don't use the well-known standard aspect ratio of 180:157 Smile ?

Jimmer: Sure that should also solve the requested volume limiter.
