You caught me. I never checked out this thread prior to the other night after the upgrade. Take that as a compliment though -- I had no complaints.
I have discovered the use of the lower right hand remote icon to bring up the overlay. It works only in Safari for me. Chrome is my primary browser, and I suspect I'll have to clear its cache in order to get this to work again.
I do still prefer the always available arrows + enter button. I use AWXi almost exclusively as my sole input to XBMC. I have a small Logitech Mini keyboard, but ever since upgrading to Ubuntu 12, there is some kernel bug that prevents it from working for the majority of the time.
I'm sure you'll hate this, but I'll toss it out anyway since you offered:
#1: JIRA On Demand uses a dynamic dashboard layout where you can configure various blocks of data points. This allows the user to customize their experience with the existing data, basically a dynamic skinning.
#2: An old-man-give-me-the-old-way button, where you click a checkbox and a sideframe renders to support the old style?

Fine in Chrome for me so yeah, clear the cache.
I may change the lay and reduce the "content" box. I'm also planning to see if I can replicate the key input. So "space" when in the AWXi window would pause/play.
When I started making the new layout with subtitle and audio I was thinking it was possible to list the languages, so those sub-type-menus would be as big as the controls but it turned out not to be the case. I aim to fit on my HTC Flayer 7" which is 1024*768 (missed out on getting a Nexus 10 :'( ), which is why the are submenus. I've also tried to make it tablet friendly.
I took this over when MKay went missing. As you can imagine (as with most OOS), I tend to please myself unless people point something out or make a reasonable request.
Almost forgot. Do you just want up,down, left, right, select, info and context? Obviously it'll be hard to fit everything in.

Hi, Could you please help a Newbie out.
I have been playing around with XBMC on a RaspberryPI and AWXi using Chromium browser on another Pi with Touchscreen. I have had the setup working but I have recently added a new directory (from a NAS) to XBMC. I can get to it and play the contents fine direct through XBMC, but when using AWX and go through VIDEO>FILES I see the new directory, but when I open it it keeps coming up "Failed to get Directory". I have tried with various browsers on various machines with the same issue. Also, the other directories are from the same NAS and list fine.
Hope this explains it to some extent.

Are there a lot of files? If so try increasing the time out "Time Out for Ajax-Requests: 60 seconds" in the general settings. You may need to do some organising

Got it, and worked. Cheers Mate I knew it had to be something simple.

I've added a control file called js/settings.json. With this you can turn off various functions. It's not a security feature so no telling me how easy it is to bypass The aim is to prevent the general public (at a party etc.) from messing with your playlist etc.

Request: Pictures and silde show of Image folders... would be a great for presentation. ATM; I use http://URL/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=ExecBuiltIn¶meter=XBMC.RecursiveSlideShow(V:/Pictures/Vacation) With this, currently running into issues with Frodo Beta
Love this program and feel it has a lot of possibilities... editing moviesets and .nfo would be the biggest.

Slide show falls into the "I don't use it so until someone asks..." Now you've asked I'll have to have a look and see what is possible.
XWMM does a great job editing information so I can't see the benefit in just reproducing that. I'll probably add some little things like (un)flagging items as watched etc.

This program seems to be a lot quicker than XWMM, showing pictures & slideshow presentations would be a big plus.

Changed how images are loaded and added default images with icons. Artist banner view. Fixed hidden videos. I'll get this pulled to repo soon but might try to fit an overlay redesign in first. If people can give it some testing that would be helpful as I'm still changing quite a lot of code and it's difficult and time consuming to test it all.

6.02 failed to initialize UI, spinning wheel.. that was the AWX-Frodo build on Frodo Beta. Or you want Eden tested out?
6.0 works, renamed 6.02 after UI loaded and played.

It'll need beta 2. Sadly the xbmc log tells you nothing. http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add-on:AWXi#Problems.2FDebugging browser console should tell you the error but did you clear the browser cache or try a private mode?
I've had to make a few changes to addon.xml so you'll need to get a fresh zip.
Thanks for testing.

I want to be on the same page.
I have Frodo B2 installed and grabbed the Frdod branch https://github.com/frolick/AWX-Eden.git, installed works a charm... with FF 16.02 cleared cache. v6.0.1
I have 50 recently added in XBMC lists (custom) but only 25 show up in AWX, set for 30 in settings, cleared cache... still 25
Going to TV shows for a listing I got this "XBMC has quit. You can close this window." and sure nuff XBMC was toast...
Cleared FF cache opened new page, re-started XBMC, XWX opens up to TV show listing with 'computer gen images'
Clicked back to main page, TV shows, titles and presented with a beautiful banner array of all shows.. again limit to 25 of 136
Picked a show 'How it's Made' s08e08 and enququed 09, second show was not located by XBMC
The System control panel worked marvellously...
I exported my library, and XBMC dutifully exported... (looked like as separate files but I wasn't sure, and unsure default of options).
Small issue, not sure why a small percentage of covers are not showing up. Could byte size be a factor?
At this time, it's clear I enjoy this program quite a bit, and need to really go back and read through this forum to be able to help.
As I see it, this program is a pretty nice bit of code, hopefully you're getting something out of this.
Any chance the System Control panel could open up a small window on top?
