While we're on requests. A checkbox on the xbmc client stuff to turn off warnings of not being able to connect.
I don't always have the machines on when I look at maraschino, but the episodes/movies will be up to date etc even if the xbmc client isn't on at the time.

At home, I've setup a "kids" sickbeard/cp server and an "adult" sickbeard/cp server, and I would like to be able to control both of them.

Worst case, I'll run 2 instances of Maraschino, but I would really rather not Smile

Thanks for all your hard work.

It has been requested a number of times I'm afraid. But it not possible with the current design. I hope it comes aswell.

Great idea. I would love something like hide on no connections.

I think it is more likely that Maraschino has gotten to the point where people are comfortable with the features and interface and there is less need for constant tinkering. I would expect as XBMC adds new features - especially to to the JSON-RPC server - that Maraschino will keep up.

Here is the official forum: http://forums.maraschinoproject.com/

Development of the core platform/app has been DEAD for a long time. The VERY FEW posts in the last 1 year has mainly been users and some from Hellow who has made a few modules - only 1 or 2 from the core dev team, and nothing in the past 6+ months. I don't see this changing. Most people have been switching to HTPC-Manager... which works better but has less modules, unfortunately.

Maraschino is nice and for the most part works but needs some serious improvement in a few ways - none of which have been addressed. The developers do not seem to want to fix the issues or add any new features.

problems with the app that I see...

1) no way to load a module multiple times - this is a problem when you have more than one app (2 installs of Sick Beard, etc) or camera to display.
2) XBMC media control is lacking & tedious to use. A jukebox style UI was supposed to be release long ago, it never materialized.
3) a new module for app control & status is needed... basically, 2 way communications for those who need to know if an app is running and/or the app can provide a specific status/state (security armed, bypass, parameter, etc)

1) Yes this could be a shortcoming of the app however it is something that is sensible in my opinion. People can ask this all they want but if some research is done you can see it is not as easy as you may think. You guys seem to forget how modular Maraschino is and to make it work properly the base had to be tied down and choices were made at the time. I can guarantee you I was the first person to ever bring this up when the app was in it's early stages but I got convinced that such a thing would be an isolated case and I do think that is correct. Sickbeard and couchpotato are designed to be the central intelligence for tv shows and movies respectively, I do know that some people can see the use in having multiple installations unfortunately there are not that many to justify such a big job (although if I had this personal need I would probably do some more research).

2) I am not sure what you mean by tedious, almost all supported functions are built into Maraschino, maybe not in a perfect way but they are there from remote control to playlist management.

3) Apparently this is already possible with the script launcher module, look around and you should be able to find working scripts.

Wow, someone is paying attention! Thanks!

Any chance maraschino forum can be cleaned up?

Too much spam going on over there. Tried my best, but it ain't easy with all those Spambots hitting it every few seconds.

MrK needs to add a few more things in over there to stop it. It's simply out of control.

MrK said he'd increase privileges to all mods there so any mod can install anti spam plugins. I spent 2 hours yesterday trying to delete the spam, it was a never ending task though.

Was using this to install Maraschino, but for some reason I'm getting this error:

http://prntscr.com/36beit

Not sure how to correct this issue. Any help??

Also I'm trying to implement this Maraschino-Portal with Maraschino, how do I do so? Anyone familiar? I contacted the dev, but no response.

Thank you for this information. I will reinstall. By any chance, do you know how to implement this Maraschino-Portal project that hernandito created? I tried contacting him, but no reply. The supplied ReadMe doesn't say much of how to implement it. https://github.com/hernandito/Maraschino-Portal

im pretty sure maraschino-portal should be unzipped in a web directory on any web server on your network. you can also unzip and open the index.html right from your desktop to play around with it.

ive been working on another project that is similar to maraschino project, but more powerful, and under continued development:
https://github.com/elcabong/ControlCenter
you will need a full webserver with php and curl enabled to run my project, but it allows for easy control over multiple xbmc machines and using a recently integrated module system im working to integrate easier ways of controlling all the peripheral devices in each room as well, turn on tv/receivers/amps etc, and eventually home automation stuff..

If you want to play with it edit the maraschino URL at the bottom of the HTML file.

Any screen shots?

I love the all-in-one dashboard layout of Maraschino but have been using HTPC Manager since it is more user friendly for control of xbmc

i put up a few screen shots here: http://imgur.com/a/vFT9c#5

and linked that in the readme on github. trying to finish a few things, then find time to put up a video for setting it up and general usage.
