RE: [Mini-ITX] A6-3600 (4x2.1Ghz/2.4Ghz) + HD6530D - jj19790 - 2012-04-11 Hi Guys My A6 3500 is working perfectly but can't get over the noise my stock PSU is making, has anyone got any suggestions if i can use a picoPSU thinking of using 160w! will this be powerful enough? Otherwise can anyone think of a quieter PSU My build is A6 3500 ASRock a75 ITX Simm DDR3 PC1600 4GB CL9 KingsToner Hyp Old SATA harddrive nicked from my laptop RE: [Mini-ITX] A6-3600 (4x2.1Ghz/2.4Ghz) + HD6530D - LmmO - 2012-04-11 There is a few testresults in this forum that indicates a 90W should be enough. Or 120W to be safe... 160W sounds like overkill CPU uses 65W max, a laptop harddrive usually doesn't use more than 5W max http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=128009&page=4 http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=114659&page=11 http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=128384 RE: [Mini-ITX] A6-3600 (4x2.1Ghz/2.4Ghz) + HD6530D - jj19790 - 2012-04-11 (2012-04-11, 15:30)LmmO Wrote: There is a few testresults in this forum that indicates a 90W should be enough. Now can I just take out my stock PSU or un-hook from my MTX003B case and use a PicoPSU or am i better buying something like the ISK100 case? will I be able to fit my CPU cooler (scythe kozuti) in ? RE: [Mini-ITX] A6-3600 (4x2.1Ghz/2.4Ghz) + HD6530D - LmmO - 2012-04-11 You can just remove your intern PSU, and fit a picoPSU and powerbrick.... Personally I would find a silent PSU to fit inside your Case (if you like your case), as you would get a hole on the case where the PSU was located. And if you leave the PSU in the case unplugged to avoid this, you would end up with too many wires in your case. Well I don't know the ISK100 Case or the height of your CPU cooler So I can't tell RE: [Mini-ITX] A6-3600 (4x2.1Ghz/2.4Ghz) + HD6530D - eskro - 2012-04-12 silence come's at a price. get a picoPSU in there and get a 3rd party CPU cooler. you need 58mm clearance for the SCYTHE big shuriken v2. which u should have if u get a picoPSU RE: [Mini-ITX] A6-3600 (4x2.1Ghz/2.4Ghz) + HD6530D - jj19790 - 2012-04-12 Cheers Eskro & LmmO Already got the Scythe Kozuti installed so will leave that in seem very quiet to me but will look at the PicoPSU route Can I use my old laptop 90w brick (LITEON PA-1900-04) Output = 19V -- 4.74A Input = 100 - 240v ~ 50 - 60hz 1.5A with this PicoPSU 90w Power Supply Mini ITX EPIA VIA Pico PSU ps. sticking with my MTX003B case RE: [Mini-ITX] A6-3600 (4x2.1Ghz/2.4Ghz) + HD6530D - eskro - 2012-04-12 no u cant use your 19v brick... you need a 12v Brick... RE: [Mini-ITX] A6-3600 (4x2.1Ghz/2.4Ghz) + HD6530D - jj19790 - 2012-04-12 Stupid me!.... told you I was a newbie... off to buy a 12v brick... once again eskro thank you so much for your help, wouldn't have had a clue what to do otherwise.
