Maybe it's not the best place to put this, but they seend me yesterday a page with several "Wii adapted" webpages that maybe could be useful to see on XBox... Yes, a bit stupid, but at least it seems Wii it's the first console that have solved the problem of browse internet with a keypad :p

ysbox, how the new commit coming? Can we get another progress update?

I'm building a new XBMC since 2 weeks ago, theres lots of new stuff!

I understand that the Devs have enough to worry about the way XBMC is already, and that they want to keep SVN as stable as possible. But in my honest opinion SVN is stable enough to balance Links in the trunk. I also strongly feel that a trunk merge would cause a lot more wows than headaches. Then again, I may just be too set on getting fresh XBMC and Links.

It's not my call but maybe my opinion is worth considering.

Take care,
Schnitz

don't forget to add the zip/winrar download link at the official LinksBoks siteTongue

Sorry for the delay, I was mostly away last two weekends and hadn't much free time on my hands.
There's a new commit in svn.

Could you add support to browse the xbox for saved webpages

Awesome thanks (btw do you need a hand with this?)...

The 'deff' is now in _my_ usual places :p for those interested. I did talk to some at the 'usual place' but they insisted the 't3ch' was fine and no others were needed.

KingJames Wrote:Could you add support to browse the xbox for saved webpages

already included, local files are accessed through URLs like:
file://E:\XBMC\xbmc.log

Also try entering just "file:" to start browsing your harddisk.

- Asteron - 2007-05-15

Hmmm.. maybe you should have XBMC open .txt .cfg .xml and other text files in linksboks (when opened from the filemanager). The filemanager could use a text viewer...

- HarshReality - 2007-05-15

I know this is off topic but relating to the last post... I've seen scripts like the old notepad (never really refined beyond initial release) and the most recent example would be the nfo display in Evox-T trainers script.. why couldnt a pythin guru take the ball and run with it or the devs throw an internal python script doing the same thing and reference the desired file types internally?

If I disconnect ethernet cable or use a static network settings, but dont put in correct dns server. It says looking up host and allows me to open saved web pages.

- weinerschnitzel - 2007-05-17

That issue has been resolved. I had it on a build early on the 15th. I had the same issue.
I noticed a new commit later that day and the waiting in queue hang wasn't in my new build. I did, however, notice a few issues. Textboxes and Buttons are invisible and the Links Options menu is a little dysfunctional. I could not change my aspect ratio. When the Links popup appeared where you press A to enter a new aspect ratio, Links would run into all sorts of issues.
Keep it up ysbox! The Scene would be in for a real surprise if/when Links gets integrated in the trunk by a new point release!

With the addition of this what do you think will happen with the weather? Am I the only one that thinks it should be replaced with a link/favourite inside the linksboks? I only say this as some are concerned with the home becoming too cluttered in pm3.

XBMC w/ webbrowser: Remote control navigation - bthoem - 2007-05-17

Sorry for cross posting - I have posted this question in "feature requests" and development before - now I understand that I should post in this thread.

I have had the pleasure to test the new XBMC version with built in web browser - congratulations team XBMC: This looks very good!

However - simple navigation (page up and page down) with the ordinary MS DVD remote is missing - as far as I can see is navigation up and down on a page only possible by following URLs - then I miss a lot of text in a lot of articles.

Although I am not a developer, I hope those of you working on the webbrowser integration can find a way to implement page up/ page down navigation with a standard MS DVD remote comtrol.

Thanks,

BT
