Hai, after upgradeing from RC3 to Frodo release, my playback is choppy.

im using al recommended setting from the first page here, and this is the first time this is happening.

The log would be a good starting point.

Is this 100% true?

It's not working right now, but I'm pretty sure that it used work.
I have a one year old file on my hdd (with DTS-MA) which it definitely worked. (and now it doesn't)
For as long as I can remember, I always enabled all the codecs (I have an Onkyo receiver that supports pretty much everything) and, maybe I'm mistaking, but I remember seeing and bragging with the DTS-MA sign on my receiver.

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/Nvidia/Intel GPUs - fritsch - 2013-02-04

Yes. It cannot work with the 2 (real) channels AMD is implementing.
DTS and AC3 5.1 will work.

The HDMI of fglrx is like a S/PDIF but with max 48000hz - best on AMD currently is to use the S/PDIF and not the hdmi at all.

In xbmc disable all of the following: DTS-HD, TrueHD, LPCM, Play Stereo on all Speakers and AAC.
Maximum Number of Speakers: 5.1
Boost volume on downmix is allowed.

I'm not giving up just yet. I still think it used to work. I'm not crazy.
Probably before the AudioEngine merge.

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/Nvidia/Intel GPUs - fritsch - 2013-02-04

@loadrunner:
If you get it working, report back. I think at least 100.000 users would build you a shrine.

No, without joking: Try to play a DTS-MA file and have DTS-HD and TrueHD and LPCM disabled and see what your receiver tells you.

Stuppid me, i forgot to disconnect my second monitor.
Even when its off, its detected, and made my playback choppy, so its fixed now.

The receiver tells me DTS.

But maybe I am crazy. I just tried a pre-AudioEngine XBMC (11) and the file does work, "with everything enabled", but without DTS-MA. (as there is no support for it in 11)
So I'm probably remembering the DTS-MA logo on my receiver from blurays.

The irony in this is that I "upgraded" to XBMC from a LG BD/network player, which works pretty good, exactly for this reason. (it doesn't have support for DTS-MA and DD TrueHD in mkvs)

But, really, is there hope to have support for HD audio, sooner or later?

Eden does not support HD audio AT ALL. If it works there, its because there is a DTS core track in there that is played.

@Artax:
If and only if AMD - the guys you bought your hardware - make it possible. We cannot do anything at all to make it working.
