is there any option to do pan and scan scale to 16:9? - robl45 - 2011-12-26

MPC-hc has this option, it will scale a 2:35 film to 16:9 and it seems that xbmc will do this as well but only for 720p films. it will not scale my 1080p films to 16:9.

i have xbmc set to scale everything to 16:9 and it works for all my 720p films, but all my 3d SBS are 1080p and I find no way to be able to scale them to fullscreen 16:9 like I can with mpc-hc.

and yes I know that its stretching it and the aspect technically isn't right etc, but in all but a few shots, you can barely tell the difference and the difference between using half your screen and all your screen is worth it.

If you don't care that the movie looks correct you could use the zoom mode.

zoom mode cuts off picture though. with the scale to 16:9 in mpc-hc, it just stretches the picture from what I can tell instead of zooming it which would cause the sides to get cut off.
