Sorry this may be a silly question, but what is the difference between this build and the nightly builds from 10/05/2012 that now feature AE? Blush

RE: [Windows] AudioEngine testers - Windows platform only - DDDamian - 2012-05-10

There was a pull-request to eliminate WASAPI shared mode that didn't get merged into master along with the rest of AE. If you are using WASAPI and not DirectSound you may have issue with the first nightly (last night) that featured AE.

This build addresses that. You can use it, or wait until tomorrow when the fix will be in the new nightly.

Thanks for the clarification on this DDDamian!

Will give it a shot, keen to try out the fix for Onkyo receivers Wink

@DDDamian - this build crashes in the same way as today's nightly build did.

Steelman buddy,

Can you see if you have the random items add-on installed (it will be there if you have downlaoded Welo, which you mentioned you were downloading in a pm to me). If so, try moving it from the add-ons folder and launch xbmc.

@DDDamian... the last build you posted before the merge crashed for me when the random items add-on was installed (gets downloaded and installed when Welo is downloaded).

Cheers

Liquid - had a look and can't see anything named like that - I did install Welo earlier today, but that was after I got the crashes with the nightly and reverting back to yesterday's nightly.

Cheers buddy.

Ah, guess you did a fresh install then?

Cheers

I have - several of them. I did notice a script.randomitems folder - is that the one you mean?

RE: [Windows] AudioEngine testers - Windows platform only - liquidskin76 - 2012-05-11

Thats the one!

RE: [Windows] AudioEngine testers - Windows platform only - DDDamian - 2012-05-11

heh - yep, that's definitely not an AE issue sorry. Random addons sounds kinda like an invite to crash too - wonder if it grabs ones marked "broken" in repo for example.

Not yet, soon. We've asked team member DanielaE if she would help with that. If she does great, if not we'll add. Either way it's on the list.

DDDamian, I notice that when using the "Transcodeto" advanced option (set to AC3), one has to also have the pass-through for that enabled. I would think this should work regardless.

There's some very funny thing with these latest builds. If I do a clean install of @DDDamian's AE Final, XBMC crashes after the splash screen as well. When I install it on top of the April 25 build, it works fine, except that the backgrounds are missing.

It all points to the SQL databases, which are created after the first run ... after a clean install.

RE: [Windows] AudioEngine testers - Windows platform only - minimoe - 2012-05-11

I installed the nightly of May 10th and I have problems when playing FLACs with PAPlayer. The music plays fine but XBMC becomes very sluggish, almost unresponsive.

The file is 88.2kHz but plays as 48kHz.

Image

1.76fps is a good number, most of the time it's around 0.50fps. Confused

In the log I found the following lines:

Code:
10:53:29 T:1956   DEBUG: Error: Requested setting (audiooutput.useexclusivemode) was not found.  It must be case-sensitive
10:53:29 T:1956   DEBUG: CAESinkWASAPI::IsCompatible: Formats Incompatible due to different :Sample Rates

Is this a bug or I'm missing some kind of arcane advancedsettings knowledge? Big Grin

With DVDplayer I have no speed problems.
