RE: NBA International League Pass - Add-on - Tyrant - 2014-01-03

Hi!

I just registered to say THANKS to everyone who contributed to this.
I'm Euro so I mainly watch condensed games, and it works awesome.
Live games aren't working however, but since I'm on a W7 machine I have to watch these through my browser.

But anyway, great work on this. Is there someway I can donate some beers to the maker(s)?

Sorry to repeat myself but this broblem is really bugging me.

The NBA video is buffering every 2 minutes or so. The average speed of my connection is not the issue but the buffer seems to be only couple seconds, even after I pause the stream.

Changing advancedsettings.xml did not seem to have any effect on this issue.
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW-TO:Modify_the_video_cache

I did some tweaking with the plugin code and when using ".mp4" instead of ".mp4.m3u8". With ".mp4" XBMC makes large cache (press o-key, and see cache grow). With ".mp4.m3u8" Cache stays at 0 and Buffer usually stays at 90-99% but goes down quickly. This gives a little hope...?

I tested versions 13.0-ALPHA9 Git:26b92f4 and 13.0-ALPHA11 Git:c436399 with NBA addon 0.6.5
My log http://pastebin.com/nYd5yxcu
Any ideas?

Edit: Some details edited.

The issue seems to be due to a bug in ffmpeg / libavcodec. m3u8 is being passed over to ffmpeg and handled by it from XBMC. Should be an issue on all versions of XBMC but on the RPi with it's not too strong ARM processor it's more bothering probably.
Let's hope there'll be some fix out soon but the problem seems to be known for a year already.

If you'd like to read something about it: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=154016

Like that it's no fun for me to watch on the RPi neither.

On a non related topic: Is NBA TV working for everyone? I'm using a dev build and the addon tries to open it but nothing happens then.

RE: NBA International League Pass - Add-on - woronczak - 2014-01-21

I am also having problems with NBA TV live. Am using a dev build as well. It seems to work the first time with a fresh build, but after that it tries to work but doesn't - no error. I don`t know if this is the reason, but it does have the popup for "resume from hh:mm ....." As if its trying to resume a non-live movie from where you last finished but obviously this is a live stream. I am using alpha 11.

I have Problems to get the Feeds Runing on my TV.

I have XBMC 12.3 installed on my Win7@64BIT Computer-
The newest Version of the Add-on.

The Add-on Runs perfect on this Hardware. Credits to the Creator(s)
I thought that I can run all the streams through DLNA on my LG Smart TV, but I have no clue how to get the streams working on my TV.
I can access locally saved files on my Computer through XBMC on my TV (DLNA makes this possible), but when I try to access the content of the NBA League Pass app then my TV is not able to start the various streams. I see the name of the stream and I am able to select the Away/Home feed but somehow my TV seams to have problem with the file format. I thought the streams are in mp4, a file format that my TV is capable of to play.
One thing that I could not install is httplib2, is this necessary? I somewhere have red that with newer Version of XBMC it is not needed. If I am wrong, can somebody give me a link to the httplib2 for XBMC 12.3.
Regards elly

I haven't tried it myself but you should take a look into ArkMC, it's available for XBMC: http://www.arkmc.com/featuresupnpdlnaarkmc.html
Let us know if it'd solve your problem Smile

The format played is not mp4 but m3u8 (it's a sort of playlist that plays mp4 chunks). Mp4 is (apparenly) not available anymore from nba servers.
httplib2 is no longer required (i've removed the dependency)

Do I need to set special settings to be able to play the NBA-LP streams, I search the net and it seams that my TV should be able to play m3u8, somehow I am not able to do this.
Do I have to Launch the NBALP-AddOn in XBMC to be able to straeam, or do I even have to start the Stream (Game) in XBMC and select it on TV?

RE: NBA International League Pass - Add-on - whitewater - 2014-01-26

dont want to cheer to soon, but it looks like the buffering problem can be solved by downloading a monthly build in combination with the latest update of the add-on. watched almost a quarter of the knicks - bobcats game, and the video did not have to buffer once. also watched about half of the clippers - bulls game without any problems.

to bad that i live in the netherlands. time difference between us and netherlands is to big ( about 9 hours ) to test the live games. when the games starts its about 3 in the morning here

Is your buffer being used then? The problem was that XBMC wasn't buffering m3u8 at all. What system do you use?

RE: NBA International League Pass - Add-on - whitewater - 2014-01-26

like anybody els i have the problem, that the video stops every 2 minutes or so to load (xbmc says buffering ) the video. from what i understand its a bug within the video add-on that is used by xbmc. yesterday i installed the newest monthly build ( gotham ) on my media center, First installed it on my main machine to watch the bulls - clippers game, after that i installed on my media center and could watch the knicks game without any problems.

but i cheerd to soon, buffering/loading problem is back again

RE: NBA International League Pass - Add-on - Kingsy - 2014-01-31

Can I just clarify.. I have tried the latest version of this plugin (0.6.5) on both a nightly build of xbmc and frodo, both have buffering problems. On both installs the video stops every 30 seconds or so buffers and plays for another 30 seconds (about).
Is there a recognised fix for this? I assume its not happening for everyone?

RE: NBA International League Pass - Add-on - whitewater - 2014-01-31

i have the same problem.

tried the latest stable, monthly and nightly build with the latest plug-in but nothing works. there is one strange thing. after installing a new version of xbmc the problem is gone. and i can watch 2 or 3 games after each other. But after a restart the problem comes back.

RE: NBA International League Pass - Add-on - Kingsy - 2014-02-04

So I assume no-one has gotten this add-on working without this buffering issue yet?
Any word from the add-on developer regarding this?

***note, it looks like it might be a problem with xbmc itself. I downloaded the NFL Game Pass add-on and although it is totally separate it has exactly the same problem, frequent buffering. Perhaps some setting or video add-on needs to be installed?
