And i normally can play 5.1 from my laptops headphone socket in windows 7 but in my new built htpc for some reason when i play with the toslink in xmbc or media player classic or any other media players The sound is out of sync. the sound comes and goes. But if i use the hdmi with my tv i can hear the sound is in sync but play's in 2 channel. Am thinking if something is wrong with my motherboard since i have a few days left to exchange it if there is a problem with my motherboard. I have download all the drivers you and blu have said to download from asrock site for it to be able to play 5.1 in xmbc thanks
Sorry to read your trouble again, you can try these-

1. Download- High Definition Audio Codecs
2. Select Realtek HD Audio device in Windows 7 control panel/hardware and sound/sound
3. Cofigure speaker to 5.1 in Windows 7 control panel/hardware and sound/sound

After it work fine with MPC-HC, you can configure audio settings in XBMC settings/system/audio output.....
1. Audio Output: Optical/Coax
2. Speaker Configuration: 5.1
3. Select all the capable receiver options
4. Audio device- WASAP: Digitatal Audio (S/PDIF) (Realtek High Definition......)

But he never install a 200W PSU in his Antec 300-65....his OEM PSU is 65W......

I didn't mean to imply he installed a 200W PSU. I was celebrating the smallness of these builds and that we, as a group of HTPC/PC builders, are able to use such small efficient power supplies and not waste resources, electricity, etc. We are past the days of PCs always being beige towers and having power supplies that use way more electricity than needed to do the job. Congratulations to this group for seeing beyond that. That is what I was trying to convey.

But it is not the same....

The only differences between the HT100 and the Origenae m10 are the front facade and the internal power supply. Internally they are identical and likely from the same manufacturer. They are identical down to the location of the screw holes, the materials used, everything. There is another company, Tendraw, that makes a version of the m10 as well. I can't verify that the m10, HT100 and Tendraw are all from the same manufacturer, but I do know that if you order enough quantity from the manufacturer, you can modify these cases anyway you like which is likely why there are a few variants to be found if you look hard enough. The internal layout can't be so coincidental that it's not from the same manufacturer. Among these cases, price differences have more to do with markup, internal goodies (larger power supply, upgraded VFD) than the quality of the case since it's very likely all manufacturer by the same outfit in China. The m10 is a good 50% more expensive than the HT100 and Tendraw.

Guy's this picopsu works am so happy man lol. Thanks goes out to Dougie Fresh for the advice for that picopsu. Before i installed. a fresh copy of windows 7 tested out crysis 1 on everthing high settings and it worked never shut down. Just finished installing windows 7 done a secure erase with PartedMagic and it works on my crucial m4. Just saw my cpu fan speed is now RPM 1246 with the case on. Funny thing is when i go to the bios the cpu fan goes nuts after a while around 1366 and around 2000 some times above that. But i just get out of the bios when that happens that is strange. I will keep you guys updated need to install drivers now

Yes the asrock bios screen turns out to be a very good burn-in test! you don't need prime or even need to boot up! Just go to hw monitor and watch temp rises Smile

I think mine was consuming like 67W sitting at bios screen (for my a6-3500).

Well, it is time to smash Antec PSU and it's time to enjoy the movie then.......Nod

If you want to stress your A8, try watching blu-ray movie while transcoding blu-ray file using HandBrake.......

Thanks for the props. I am happy to help and happy to hear the 120-WI-25 worked out so well for you. My 120-WI-25 is happily powering my office PC right now. In the past it's powered my home server and at least two different HTPCs. I switch around and test out/built out so much different hardware it's seen a lot of different use!

Hey beer quick question, is there any way you could mount a slim optical drive in you're build as it is at the moment?

Long story short it looks like my CPU cooler is about to die and am considering switching it for the one you used instead. My only concern is I plan to add an optical drive too and not sure if I can have both!

RE: Antec ISK 300-90 picoPSU HTPC A6-3500 Very Quiet! - MrKay - 2012-05-15

Yeah i couldn't believe Dougie the 120w works so far i tested crysis a little bit. On high on all settings and the power meter was showing around 70watts to 80watts i thought it should be like 110 at least. I will try battle field 3 this week just to see if it can handle the game and see what the power meter say's about the watts. Now i need to get the 5.1 working. Done most of eskro's Optimize your SSD settings only one's i have not done yet are page file, windows logo animation, windows solid color. i read some where that if i do the page file with my 4gb there will be a problem with games does anyone know if this is true? i will be upgrading to an 8gb if this will help tho or i'll just stay will 4gb if i have no problems with game's

I think it's gonna be hard to do that without the bracket unless your good at modding. Not like my self that breaks things lol. But u can have an external bd drive that's what am gonna do because there more better and cheaper and faster bd write speeds

APU + picoPSU is a pretty amazing thing.
