That is SAD.....Sad .....you are against me when I suggested A6-5400K to Xexiz in here, but you suggested the same thing to another guy in another thread- Budget HTPC.......Huh

You clearly don't understand the difference between recommending (or not recommending) something and simply suggesting someone look into it. I think of recommending something as saying, "I know it works and therefore I know for your situation that it'll work for you too." In the other thread I gave an available option both AMD and Intel that's available at that person's MicroCenter that's newer than the 880G/FX system they purchased. They want to build it tonight and that's what's available. That is much different than staking my name next to it and saying "I recommend it".

I couldn't even tell someone right now which picoPSU to get for the A6-5400K.

You know, my posts aren't about me vs. bluray if you haven't figured that out yet.

As soon as I find out the new Trinity series works correctly as it should I will update my first page to recommend people on the new hardware so they have two choices... or more.... Big Grin

I've not had time to read it all so sorry if these questions have been asked before or I sound like a bit of a noob, but here goes.

1. Where is your media stored?
2. If stored separately from the XBMC, how are they connected?
3. Do you update your first post with all your current parts to save me (and others) going through the whole thread to check which parts you've found to be the best?

That's it for now but I'm sure I'll be back with more. Cheers.

My media is stored in my unRAID rig... see my sig?
Connected via cat6 cables and on a gigabit network...
Yes my first page has been updated since day one... have not changed nothing except that I found the dongle that turns on your HTPC from a cold start.... its all on page one.

Llano works (a6-3500) and it's been tested over and over again... tons of people have it on this community now... I recommend it. It just works...

It's crazy to read all the pages...

I am here to help and some other guys. Tongue

Thanks for that, that explains how it runs so fast. What Im looking for is a wireless connection between rig and XBMC, what are the options here? So far I've not had to much luck. PS3 is too laggy, WDTV LIve MS was even worse. Is this just the nature of wireless? I'm tired of tripping over the 6 meter cat6 cable running through my house to connect the PC to the PS3.

Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Big_Al

It is best to be wired... I have messed with wireless and it just does not work right.

If you just play 720P files then you might just get away with wireless....

But from all the experiences I have read people run direct with a wire... just have to find a way to route them wires.

The wireless option can work, but it can get very expensive to make it work well- Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router N900 + Linksys WUMC710

or this- Belkin Powerline AV500 Network Adapter....

Thanks Bluray. I just bought a Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Modem Router so don't fancy buying another. Would the media connector work with it?
I've tried the power outlet things before, they come free with Foxtel (cable tv, similar to SKY+ - not sure where you are in the world) and it was very laggy, maybe because they are cheap? Do you think the Belkins would be any better? Cheers.

I'm in U.S. If you tried the 200mbps or lower powerline, 1080p is not stabble but 720p is fine. The Belkin I suggested is 500mbps powerline. It should be able to handle 1080P. If you are living in a single family home, it should work.....

Hello group,
I really like this pack and I am trying to build one....I do have one question concerning the picoPSU.
If there is a need for this system to run 24/7 in order to download stuff or do other stuff, will the picoPSU be safe?
What I mean is, what happens with the heat coming from excessive usage....

Thanks again
