Would it be safe to put a 120W picoPSU....maybe it is not needed but it seems it is easier to find it.(2012-10-05, 11:07)dkaris Wrote: Hello group, Regards dkaris RE: Antec ISK 300-90 picoPSU HTPC A6-3500 Very Silent! A6-PACK - payders - 2012-10-05 I know some of the picoPSU external bricks have fans built in (which increase noise) - is this the case with the 120W? RE: Antec ISK 300-90 picoPSU HTPC A6-3500 Very Silent! A6-PACK - dkaris - 2012-10-05 For sure I do not want to add noise.... RE: Antec ISK 300-90 picoPSU HTPC A6-3500 Very Silent! A6-PACK - Dougie Fresh - 2012-10-05 If you get the picoPSU 120-WI-25 and a 19V brick it will not have a fan and will be safer than the 12V 10A adapter (the picoPSU harness is rated at 8A). I use this brick for picoPSU 120-WI-25 builds: Anker® New Laptop AC Adapter/Charger + Power Supply Cord (19V 6.3A 120W 5.5*2.5mm) RE: Antec ISK 300-90 picoPSU HTPC A6-3500 Very Silent! A6-PACK - dkaris - 2012-10-05 Hey Doug, Thanks for the details one more option to think of..... Only thing left now it to try and locate the most suitable case.....Antec ISK 300-65 is hard to get.....we'll see Thanks for the recommendation Sv: Antec ISK 300-90 picoPSU HTPC A6-3500 Very Silent! A6-PACK - mag_sol76 - 2012-10-06 Been following this thread with interest for a while. Am gonna use an ISK110 but not so sure about the A6-3500. The htpc will be used as a htpc (no surprise there) but also for console emulators. Has anybody here tried emulators on their 6-pack and what's the verdict? The other cpu i'm considering is the i3-3225. The reason being that i assume that the stronger cpu would benefit emulators. Any thoughts? That's the big difference. You can still mod the ISK 300-150 to use the PICO+External Right? Seems like you can cause I still see the plug for the case on the 150 model. Does the brakets will really need to be different than the FM1? I would like to grab one of those new FM2 mobo / apu but don't want to wait months until Scythe release a rev C to support FM2 sockets.
