RE: [RELEASE] Aeon MQ 4 - Buff - 2013-01-21

Hi Skank,

I added a concert which didn't have any existing nfo's or fanart etc.... to the Concerts library and it was added fine. Exactly the same as before all was showing except the fanart, but the cover came up fine. I used the musicvideos.db scraper. Hope that helps.

Cheers for your reply re favourites, I'll have ago and see if it works now.

With 2.5 the music album covers in the showcase view are not shown (only a treble clef in a black background). Interesting thing is that other views work OK, including Coverflow...

Does anybody know how to solve this?

Thanks in advance

It will be to do with the code of that view. We'll have to wait for MQ to amend it, unless someone else can.

RE: [RELEASE] Aeon MQ 4 - curtis-r - 2013-01-22

A terribly minor suggestion: I use Showcase view for Movies, but Wall view for Trailers. I like the information panel in Showcase, but not in Trailers. Is it possible to make the info panel selection unique for different views or folders?

I am also having the issue with favorites.

After enter the skin customization, click add fav, choose a favorite from the list and then paste it wherever.

"choose a favorite from the list" Is the part that never shows up. No list is presented. Just goes directly to "Where do you want to add this item".

I am running Eden, should I upgrade to the Frodo version of the favorites script?

MQ 2.5 is designed for Frodo only I beleive. If you are using Eden you should stick with the stable v1.7

I am using 1.7

OK, If you cant install the skin on Openelec through the 'Instal from zip' function, you need to do the following:

1) Go to the Samba share on your OE machine by typing its IP address into the address bar in windows.

2) Then you need to open the folder called 'Configfiles', and in here you will see a file called 'samba.conf.sample'. Make a copy of this.

3) Now open the copy of 'samba.conf.sample' with Notepad (unless you have a program like Notepad++ already installed)

4) When opened you will see text. Delete and replace all of this text with the following:

5) Now save the file, and delete the .sample file extension from it, so now it reads 'samba.conf' rather than 'samba.conf.sample'.

6) Restart the OE machine and go back into the samba share. There should now be a folder called XBMC' that was not previously showing. In this folder there will be another called 'addons'. You should manually extract the skin zip and place the folder within the addons folder.

7) Now restart your OE machine once more and it should be running the latest version on MQ4.

Thank you very much for your help and your very long answer Smile

I'll try it ASAP

RE: [RELEASE] Aeon MQ 4 - wreckthisplace - 2013-01-23

Hey all,

I'm hoping for some quick help on this one. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a setting.

I customized my menu and have added some addons to it so when I press 'up' it shows the addons. When I go into 'Movies' or 'TV Shows' and then back out or press the home button, it doesn't seem to exit fully out to my home menus. It exits out to what looks like my home menus but when I go to my custom menu and press up, nothing happens. No add on shortcuts. I have to press home a second time in order for Aeon to back out to the correct home menus. I hope that makes sense.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Mq4 still has bugs.. Will an update come?
You know.. While mq4 was in progress, mq3 had bugs..
Now ace in progress, mq4 still has bugs..
What once ace is out and again new skin will come..
Dont you think we would like a bugless skin?

RE: [RELEASE] Aeon MQ 4 - gibxxi - 2013-01-23

I echo Skank's sentiments, if not the wording. Marcos and co. make some great skins, and their work is apprieciated emmensely, but of late it seems the next "big thing" is on the table before the dust has even begun to settle on the current project, leaving a lot of loyal users with a end-result that is only 90% complete each time around.

Sorry if that sounds overly negative, or ungrateful. But it's one of the main reasons i've held off becoming a VIP, to be brutally honest.

Confused

RE: [RELEASE] Aeon MQ 4 - FREAKJAM - 2013-01-23

A skin will never be bugless, XBMC has nightly builds and people will always stick to a XBMC version (eden, frodo etc).
The skin must be adapted to work with XBMC. When XBMC has changes, the skin will need adjustments.

It will takes months before Ace will reach its public beta status, so I dont think u need to worry that they won't finish MQ4.

Samu-rai, I read your answer but I don't understand how this samba file can resolve my problem. When I installed the zip file I did it locally so I don't need a Samba share.
