3D MKVs on XBMC? - sdamaged99 - 2012-07-12

I've ripped some 3D blu rays using MakeMKV but when i try and play them using XBMC Eden (and latest nightly), they run around 5fps, very jerky

I have a Core i3 2100T CPU, which according to the on screen information is only at 30% utilization.

My GPU is an ATI Radeon HD5450 which i believe does support 3D and HDMI 1.4

I have ordered a Panasonic TX-P65ST50B and although my current TV does not support 3D, i expected it to at least show a split screen image of the movie running

Have i done something wrong, or does XBMC not support 3D?

I did try and search the forums, but "3D" is too short a search term!

Hi,

Only Half SBS or O/U is supported, as it's 1920x1080 total resolution. Even then it's not fully supported in respect to subs, AMD HD3D or Nvidia 3D Vision, etc.

MakeMKV will be doing a direct rip of the MVC codec, which isn't supported. So i expect you're only seeing the left eye. Plus it may be Full SBS or O/U (3840x1080 or 1920x2140), making matters even worst!

Cheers
