switched window manager - how to go back? - blm14 - 2012-10-13 When I was trying to debug networking problems (stupidly created an IP collision) I switched to a different default window manager (openbox) and the original value was just "XBMC." Well I managed to get networking back but I want to make the default window manager XBMC so XBMC comes up again at boot. I can SSH into it but right now it auto logs me into openbox and all I see is the cursor. Let me know if any of this is unclear. Code: xbmc@xbmc:~$ cat /etc/lsb-release RE: switched window manager - how to go back? - artrafael - 2012-10-13 On your XBMC system, can you log-out and get back to the log-in screen? If so, click the arrow on the field below username and password and choose "XBMC" as the session type. Log-in with your username/password. RE: switched window manager - how to go back? - blm14 - 2012-10-13 OK fixed it. Edited /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf and commented out the autologin-user line. Rebooted, was presented with the login screen. logged in with window manager "XBMC", reedited lightdm.conf to uncomment the autologin-user line, rebooted, XBMC came up normally. |
