- Last OpenElec version (23.12.2012)
- Last Xbmc build (25.12.2012)
- Special Rpi kernel 3.6.y (based on 3.6.11)
- Last Rpi firmware (20.12.2012)
- Gpu memory set to 100mb on default (potential fix for Kernal killing xbmc task on Rpi 256mb board)
- Memory cache set to 2621440 on default

Update Instruction:

http://openelec.tv/installation/updating

Set gpu_mem=100 in config.txt and cachemembuffersize to 2621440 in advencedsettings.

or clean install:

Early tests, working well using this with the settings you suggest gets past the point in the problem movie I always use to test, have left it running will update this later

UPDATE:
Worked perfect, problem film (The Campaign in HD) Played perfect, no sound glitches, no freezing, Have started the movie again, straight away, and will do again afterwards to see if it does cause xbmc task to restart

UPDATE 2: Working well, Gone well past the bit in the movie where it normally goes wrong....

Trying to download rbej's latest build from netload - it gets about 20mb done (at around 20kbs!) and then just stops completely. Like always.

Gpu_mem=100 and cachemembuffersize=2621440 working perfect. I tested all day. No more unlimited buffer cache and write cache on sd card Smile

Any streaming addon crash my RBMC after few minutes. I guess i'm affected by this bug?

doesn't fix it. Actually it bring more problems, plugins crash just on initial run, not on streaming content, weird graphic skin problems etc. I guess i need to wait for appropriate RBMC update?

This working on OpenElec. You must wait for Raspbmc update.

Fresh install oe 6 and these new settings perfect everything works as should

I try gpu_mem=128 and cachebuffer=5282880 on new build r12788 (Openelec RC1)

hello all,
i really admire all your work.

But maybe i'm gonna ask a stupid question.
Putting the buffersize at 2,6 megabyte can improve the hangups et sudden reboots.
But the problem is overseas, we have sometimes a big "lag" in connectivity.
A month ago i've used xbian , and that was with a cachebuffersize for around 200 megabytes which garantied a fluent video replay.

Are there searches going for using the latest firmware & software & a much bigger framebuffersize for the 256mb board models?
